1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cherry Print Halter Dress- Simplicity 3823 on: March 23, 2007 05:29:16 PM
Ok, this dress was just too much fun. I fell in love with the fabric, and then I just had to do the pattern as soon as I saw it. I decided to make the one with the bubble skirt and do ties instead of just having it button in back, since ties are so much more forgiving!

I also wound up shortening it a good 3" from the pattern, given that I'm so freaking short, but I have to say I like the way this comes out. Sorry for the blurriness of the picture. Smiley

2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Questions about making eye pillows? on: January 12, 2007 11:12:47 AM
I'd like to make some eye pillows for my friends, and I've found great info searching through here about where to look for things like flax to use as filler. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where I could buy bulk herbs for the aromatherapy part?

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Help- sewing and crafts portfolio? on: January 09, 2007 10:14:37 AM
My friends are trying to talk me into entering some of my works in an upcoming competition, and one of the requirements is submitting a portfolio! I have NO idea on where I should start. (I just make things!)

Looking for some help from all you great crafty people. Smiley
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Puppy coat on: January 03, 2007 02:31:06 PM
We got a new puppy about a month ago- a chihuahua. Right now, she weighs less than two pounds, and judging from her parents (3.5 and 5 pounds), she won't get any bigger than 5.

We live in Denver. Which keeps getting hit by blizzards. So I went out to the store and bought something to work on. You know those fuzzy socks? I bought her a pair. In pink. (Because her "sister" would have killed me, so we'll get her while she's too innocent. *muwahahaha*) I figure I'll cut off the closed end, measure out the length so it's appropriate, and cut in some foreleg holes. Hopefully this'll help keep her a lot warmer. (Not to mention being disgustingly adorable.)

My only concern is how to keep it from raveling, without putting tons of effort into it. (Growing girl who shreds things to begin with!)

Pictures to come when I get it done- going to try and work on it this weekend.  Grin
