11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Felt Broccoli Pillow on: June 25, 2006 03:57:14 PM
I made this pillow for a good friend who has recently gone vegetarian.  Considering that he never ate fruits or vegetables before he quit meat cold turkey, I thought he could use something to remind  him of his commitment when he craves an In and Out burger.

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Tiki Stocking on: December 20, 2005 07:05:32 PM
My roommate and I made each other stockings for Christmas.  My tiki looks a little lucha libre but he's still pretty cute.
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Ho Ho Horror Business on: December 20, 2005 07:04:18 PM
I decided to make my friend a Christmas stocking after being inspired by my roommate's stockings at the Bust Craftacular.  Of course I had to put my own spin on it.  Overall I'm happy with how it came out.
14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Shag Wahine Tote on: May 14, 2005 05:44:37 PM
The artist Shag is one of my favorites.  I love his clean simple lines and the colors he uses so I decided to embroider a bag with one of his paintings.  I tried to match the colors up as closely as I could but obviously there's no way to duplicate his work.

Here is a pic of the original:http://www.shag.com/%21Prints/Greenwahineprint.html

I forgot to reverse the image.  Oops!
15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Does anyone know where I can find intaglio button making supplies on: March 08, 2005 12:11:59 PM
I'm hoping that someone can help me.  I've bought buttons like these: http://www.reprodepot.com/poodlebuttons.html  but I want to make my own.  Has anyone ever seen blanks?
Thanks!
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / VERY pink purse on: February 05, 2005 11:44:55 PM
This purse didn't start out being so pink, but somehow the pinkness overtook me.  The piping is all handmade.

17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Swallow tattoo photo album on: February 04, 2005 09:03:33 PM
I recovered a plain white photo album as a belated wedding gift for my friends.  I pretty much just measured out the album's dimensions, made a pattern and hot glued the embroidered silk shantung on.

And a close up:
18  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Transparency question on: January 11, 2005 08:17:53 PM
I bought my Speedball kit months ago but I'm finally ready to bite the bullet and make my first silk screen.  I've looked through the threads and got a lot of great information but I'm not quite sure about the transparency in the photo emulsion method.  Is my transparency supposed to just be totally clear and black or are gray areas ok?  Is there no shading in screening and I'm just supposed to have black and white areas in my photo program?
Thanks a bunch!

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sweetheart Messenger Bag on: January 06, 2005 08:41:54 PM
I started this last night but got an unexpected snow day off today  Grin  I don't like being cold or I'd go play in the snow.  This is from a Vogue pattern, 314, I believe.

Closeup of the applique which I cut out of fabric and ironed to freezer paper

The whole bag

The inside lining which has more of the pin-up girls

It's pretty roomy with a zippered pocket inside and 2 pockets outside.
20  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Skull & Roses purse on: January 03, 2005 09:42:15 PM
With yet another Amy Butler pattern (just doing my part to keep her in business), I took a ladylike pattern and made it rock and roll.  Now I just need to find a glittery skull pin!
