Work took so long to end today.  I got an email saying that my purse from Artery was waiting at home.  I swear, it was like being in junior high again, just waiting for the bell to ring.  I will post pictures this weekend but Artery rocks my socks!  She so graciously offered to make up for my disappearing swap partner and made me a purse that is so "me". You will have to see it for yourself this weekend but all I can say is, zebra print handle!  So freakin' cool!

The opposite side has a blue swallow and the inside lining is a cool funky retro print.

The artist Shag is one of my favorites.  I love his clean simple lines and the colors he uses so I decided to embroider a bag with one of his paintings.  I tried to match the colors up as closely as I could but obviously there's no way to duplicate his work.

This is my first attempt, it's not perfect by any means but I'm pleased overall how it came out.  At first I couldn't figure out the second diagonal fold but eventually it all came together in my head.  Thanks so much for the tutorial and inspiration!

I recovered a plain white photo album as a belated wedding gift for my friends.  I pretty much just measured out the album's dimensions, made a pattern and hot glued the embroidered silk shantung on.
