1  Re: Garden thru the season shots?? in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions by susankg53 on: July 30, 2007 03:21:15 PM

this is a picture of my friends lotus pond, the trees in the background are cedar trees, I was standing about 20 feet or so from the pond when I took the picture, didn't have anything to use as a reference to size, I think those lotus leaves are probably 6 to 7 feet out of the pond, she grows massive things. That picture doesn't do justice to her plants.

3  my take on the bowling ball mosaics in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by susankg53 on: July 03, 2007 10:51:20 AM
these bowling balls are my take on the ones other people have done, half marbles glued on with clear silicone sealant, one ball was originally black and I didn't paint it and the other two were colored bowling balls, one blue and the other kind of red and gray swirled together, I put a green ruler by the blue one, the original black ball is with the red one, I used mostly clear stones on the red ball

I forgot the bottle lady, she hangs around out in the flowers, she is a beauty in all her plastic glory, and I made her.

8  yard art come see in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by susankg53 on: June 19, 2007 09:32:53 PM

look at my six foot cactus and the three foot dragon and the bug that's only a foot tall - all made by my talented son. The cactus is made from pipe, barbed wire and the pot is a brake drum from a semi truck. The dragon is made from all kinds of junk. The bug is made from railroad spikes and the body is the piece that holds the rails to the ties, head is made from a sickle mower guard. No trains were harmed in the construction of this sculpture.

I just drew around a coin and overlapped the circles, then filled some in with lines, it's a vase, but I just sit it on the shelf, I've never put anything in it.
