1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Shirts for "my gangster" on: June 04, 2010 05:48:53 PM
My best friend's birthday was today, so I made her two shirts with Lacey's favorite sayings. She's a straight-up gangster, so her favorite sayings are pretty "hood" Smiley

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Hand! [Img heavy] on: August 23, 2007 05:42:24 PM
So, I saw http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=179257.0. And I was like, "I'm gonna do that with my hand!" So I put on a rubber glove, wrapped my hand in tape, and then spent forever trying to pry it off. Then! I attached it to this old, broken timer I had (Booyah! to everyone who was like, "Kristen this is broken, just throw it away!") and covered the hand in fabric. Voila! Magic! Onto the pictures:

The original hand:

Finished! With fabric!  Smiley

The fabric is a light aqua with tiny white polka dots. The fingers were a ***** to do, but I still had fun doing it. Bring on the comments! Smiley

Thank you! Have an incredible day!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Nintendo DS cover on: February 22, 2007 07:03:00 PM
Ok. So this is the first time I'm posting anything on Craftster - but that's mainly because this is the first thing I have EVER made (and completed). I have this horrible habit of breaking everything I come in contact with, so I've stayed away from sewing machines forever. But I finally gritted my teeth and dove in and this is what I came out with!

The story behind it: I bought my boyfriend a Nintendo DS for Christmas. But he didn't want to take it around with him without a case. So I looked everywhere for a case that he'd like (he's really picky) and couldn't find one, so I gave up and made him one. Yay! lol

The front - his favorite character, Toad.

The front flap lifted up.

The back flap. Beginning of Toad's most famous quote.

The back flap lifted. End of Toad's most famous quote. How depressing. lol

And my favorite part:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v31/kricket_usa/Crafts/DSC01355.jpg
The games fit PERFECTLY in the back pockets (it's sticking out a little to show you, but I swear it's PERFECT. haha)

I sewed it all together and used iron-on transfers for the images and words. My printer was running out of ink, so my sister and I had to hand paint all of the letters and Toad so that the colors were right. lol Then I used bias tape to line the whole thing.

Please don't ask how I made it because I really have no idea.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

The end.
