31  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Soap Cupcakes on: April 25, 2006 12:07:52 PM

I made these cupcakes out of soap...
There is actually brown vanilla smelling soap on the bottom and pink starwberry smelling frosting on the top.
The top is a little rough, after all it was my first time doing this Smiley

Anyway, to the pictures!

34  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My Little Craft Corner. on: April 14, 2006 03:40:41 PM
Hey everyone!

Here is my little craft corner, it's where I do my sewing and other crafty things.. duh! As you can tell I like bright colors Tongue and things to be semi organized. I changed it up a bit from what it used to be, I used to have a big table, but I was more prone to leave messes. So anyway.....

Before I put the shelves up, my little crafting corner was a complete mess! Oh yeah, ignore the green paint on the ceiling, I still need to do touch up.

I have a pretty small desk, which is good and bad! It helps me clean up after I'm done, but there isn't alot of space to work with. I put a shelf over it, and that holds my knitting needles in glass soda bottles (they are sorted by size), zippers, scissors, jewely tools, pom poms, ribbon, bottlecaps, and sequins. I keep all my little things in jars away from the dust and all organized  Under the shelf is an old measuring tape and I use that to hang up things that inspire me (I use clothes pins). On the left you can see  the alphabet magnets.. I painted part of the wall with magnetic paint so I could hang stuff up, so far I only have those magnets. The little shelf on the right is meant for CDs but I use it to hold all my glues, stamps, and paints.

Here's the magnetic wall! Under it is a small bookshelf with old sheets for fabric, my sewing machine, idea binder and junk box.

Here is my other shelf next to the window. It has all my writing utensils, sewing box, beads, embroidery stuff, thread and buttons... Those all organized in tin cans (from soup) decorated with  scrapbooking paper, tackle boxes, and my sewing box, is my mom's old one fron 7th grade  Underneath is a pretty large shelf full of fabric, I organized it all by color

Anyway, don't know if that helped anyone, but I always find pictures of people's workspaces inspiring, so yeah  .

35  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Polka Dot Pillow. on: April 14, 2006 03:27:55 PM

I realized i never post any projects, so while going throught my pictures I found this!
I made this pillow quite awhile ago for the Stash swap!
I used a vintage pillowcase and a  little bit of brown cotton for the trim.
It wasn't super hard to made, just tedious, becasue of all my mistakes.
The hardest part was definately the back.

Anyway, comment and criticisms appreciated!

The front..

And the back...

Oh yeah, ignore my brother being weird.

36  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / A different kind of "My Country Doesn't Have That" swap? on: April 13, 2006 10:06:05 PM
After participating in two of the "My Country Doesn't Have That" swaps and learning about how unique different countries are and all the food/candy/papers/crafty supplies/etc they have I was kinda thinking about a diffrent kind of swap. What if it was like a three month swap with different themes for each month such as food, craft supplies, a surprise, a package with a color theme, stuff you make, all about you theme, partners favorites, etc.... Or maybe it could be six months with a send out every other month? I wasn't thinking of havin this right away seeing as how R.4 is still going, I was just wondering if there was any interest to do this?

If so, I would like to know, when you want to do it.
How many send outs?
Any diffrent themes you can think of?
Any other ideas you have?

37  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Cover for Swap Journal on: April 12, 2006 08:29:37 PM
Like most swap obsessed people I have a swap journal, so I don't forget any important info about my partner (I can't tell you how many times I've deleted their questionnaires).
Anyway, mine was really ugly, but I didn't want to waste it, so I made a cover for it!
I didnlt properly plan/think it out so there was a lot of seam ripping! No suprise Smiley
In the end it turned out okay, and I really like it.
I used a vintage fruit fabric from the thrift store, and I can't tell if it's tacky or fun Smiley, and a litle square of solid blue cotton.
Enough rambling, here are the pictures.
Comment/criticisms wanted!

Here's the front, I swear the stitching isn't really all that crooked!

And here is the inside. Isn't that popcorn bag cool? It's not usually in there but I wanted to cover one of my previous parter's info and my DC stub. Smiley

MY COUNTRY DOESN'T HAVE THAT SWAP ROUND 4

Swap name: "My Country Doesn't Have That Swap Round 4"
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: lamamarco
Sign-up date range: Okay here's how it's going to work, we are going to start out with 10 USA-ers and 10 craftsters from any onther country. Then if more craftsters from other countries want to join, then we will allow more USA-ers. So after 10 USA-ers, I will still accept questionnaires but you will go on a waiting list, until craftsters from other countries sign up.... confusing?
Date to send item by: March 30,2006

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): Kind of.
Non-U.S. participants allowed?: DUH!
All ages allowed? Or 18+? All Ages

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders" list and will not allow those members to participate: YES
Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

DETAILS OF SWAP:

Basically you are sending your partner goodies from your country that she may not have in her country. Please try to send your partner stuff they will enjoy, for example don't send a vegan leather. Because each country is unique, we're sending partners from other countries several items that the other country doesn't have. I will PM a week before the send out, to reduce the chance of flakers.  Please let me know when you send, you must save your reciept and scan it/take a picture and send it to me. Oh an one more thing, I don't want to limit you on how much you send, but please discuss how much you want to spend with your partner to avoid embarassment.
