31  Vegan apple pancakes. in Vegetarian / Vegan by lamamarco on: December 07, 2006 08:12:07 PM

There is something about fall and apples... mmmm.. and cinnamon. I love love love apples! So when I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it, and I am glad I did!

They probably aren't the best vegan pancakes ever, but they are still pretty dang good, they have a nice flavor and the apples are yummy! Oh yeah... the batter was a little thick, adding a bit more soymilk prolly wouldn't hurt.

32  soft trees. (complete w/ photos) in Winter Holidays by lamamarco on: December 07, 2006 04:28:33 PM

Hey!

First of all let me say I made these using the soft tree pattern from the littlebirds blog. Well except I shrunk it to 50%! They turned out pretty dang small which is what I wanted Smiley

http://littlebirds.typepad.com/little_birds_handmade/2006/11/soft_tree_patte.html

I used fleece for the actual "tree" part and the bottom is made of felt! Since I just whip stitched around the bottom on the outside instead of getting all fancy I used non fraying fabics... I wanted it to flare out a bit. Like in this picture. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bellabluebell/305749717/ I didn't exactly follow the tute. Before I sewed it up I added some beads to look like ornaments Smiley

Tell me what you think!

33  Criss-Cross-Coasters. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by lamamarco on: December 06, 2006 06:13:25 PM
Hi hi hi!

When I saw this tutorial, actually I found the link in Miss Meshell's blog (http://littlemissmeshell.typepad.com/meshells_little_corner_of/), from Allsorts I knew I had to try it Smiley

http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/11/crisscross_coas.html

They are so easy and fun to make, and they make a great gift for the totally random person on your list!

Anyway I used 4 different fabrics, the 2 obvious ones on top, flannel on the inside because I liked the print and for the absorbency, and muslin on the bottom, I didn't use any interfacing because I didn't have enough for the set and I didn't like how thick it made it, I am weird, lol. I also used pinking shears to trim the edges to neaten it up (in addition to clipping the corners).

On to the pictures! Smiley

Tell me what you think! Good or bad!

Yay! I received from SewPixie! She sent me the prettiest Tree of Life Pendant which I adore! It's so perfectly made!

The leaves are purple and there are even purple flowers on the branches!

She also sent some zippers, which I desperately need! And some gum, which isn't pictured, but it's bubble gum flavored!

Thank you so much SewPixie!

Oh what kind of string/cord do you recommend I put it on?

I received from aliciasjoy! I have been getting alot of AWESOME packages this week!
She made me a crocheted tiara and sent along some fabric scraps!

I love the tiara it's so cute and well made! Sorry for the bad picture, it's hard to get detail shot when it's all dreary outside.

And here are the fabric scraps, although most of them are HUGE pieces! My favorite is the blue/brown plaid!

37  ::fabric belts:: NO PEEKING CHLOEISCRAZY in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by lamamarco on: November 15, 2006 07:16:38 PM

NO PEEKING! NO PEEKING! NO PEEKING! NO PEEKING! NO PEEKING!

Hi! *waves*
I made these for the Ongoing Wish swap that's going on right now. Her wish was for some fabric belts, so since I had some of the buckles laying around I decided to grant it!  Cheesy

The first one I made turned out horribly, so the the trash bin that one went, but I learned a lot making it, so hey! Anyway on to the pictures!

Here's the one I dubbed the "nautical belt".

Here's the blue polka dot one!

Comments or criticism?

Hey everyone!
I RECEIVED! OH MY GOSH! Everything is beautiful!
Magnoliacoffee, sent me FIVE skeins of gorgeous yarn!

Before I show you pictures, let me just say, taking pictures of yarn is hard, and these are the best ones I've got Sad Anyway last night I go to the PO to  check our PO box and I have a package! A big green package! Smiley I thought it was pretty big for a skein of yarn, so in the car I open it and it's like a never ending treasure chest!

Here is the yummy purple-y yarn she sent! It's full of purples and browns! You do a good job with colors! It's 350 yds of 2-ply merino and is unbelievably soft.

Then a gorgeous brown/rust/orange-y blend of colors. It's 140 yds of merino, silk, cotton, and angelina! I love the variation of color in this one!

I absolutely adore this yarn, its so green and so fun! Haha. Its 45 yds of a wool/superwash merino blend!

Oh and this yarn is so gorgeous, especially the teal color! It has sparkles, they glimmer in the light. It's pretty! It's 60 yds of farm wool and sparkle.

Oh and here is a group shot!

Thank you so much Heather, I absolutely love love love the yarn! I have to think of some special things to make with it! Smiley Oh and I think the castile soap smells good, haha!
