41  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / monkeys on: March 02, 2007 11:35:21 AM
I decided to try a more realistic style of animal and see how that worked out - I came up with a daddy and baby monkey. More details of how I made them, and more pics, available on my blog

Please let me know what you think! This is very different to my usual style and it was a lot more complex to make than my fuzzy patterns. I hope you like them..?
42  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / cute catnip mouse toy on: February 05, 2007 09:06:23 AM
I love my cat Maui so much... I had to make him something adorable for his third birthday. This is what I came up with:

I sewed the mouse from 3 pieces of fabric, then stuffed it with fiberfill mixed with catnip. I added a piece of string for the tail, sewed on felt ears and I embroidered the eyes and nose.

The mouse is about 2 inches long (not including tail!)

Here's my boy enjoying his present:

43  CANADA / Ontario / fabric stores in Mississauga? on: January 31, 2007 08:32:22 AM
Other than Fabricland, can anyone recommend anywhere good for fabric, notions, etc in or around Mississauga?  (I know there's Queen Street in Toronto but I'm trying to avoid a trip downtown.)

I'm looking for places that are either good value or have a large selection or (preferably) both... Suggestions?

44  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / pink fuzzy bear! on: January 28, 2007 12:06:25 PM
Sorry, this is probably too cutesy for some of you, but I have to share the bear I just crocheted for my sister:

I think she'll love it - she's very into pink!

45  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / patchwork embellished tote bag *now with pics!* on: January 24, 2007 05:43:10 PM
Hello! This is my first post on craftster, although I have lurked for ages...

I wanted to show you my latest project - a machine-applique patchwork embellished tote.

I used HeatnBond to iron on the patchwork pieces, and then zigzagged over the edges with my sewing machine. I made the bag from thick black fabric and lined it with thin vinyl (it's going to be a lunch bag for me, so I wanted it to have a wipe-clean lining).

I've included more more details on my blog: http://www.planetjune.com/blog/patchwork-embellished-tote/

I hope you like it! Please let me know what you think  Smiley
