1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Paypal and Other Shopping Carts on: January 08, 2006 02:54:30 PM
Do the posters that used zen cart or oscommerce have any advice on how to change the look of the site?  I know what I want my site to look like, but I'm not sure how to get that into the templates.  The amount of stuff in the folders is mind boggling.

Any help/advice is appreciated!

yahaira, check this forum out: http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showforum=14

tons of info and other peeps' sites  Smiley
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: How do I get more customers? on: January 02, 2006 11:56:55 AM
i really like the design of your site (loving the polka dots!) but i think the reason visitors aren't staying is that you don't have enough stuff!  Smiley when i checked in, you only had seven items. i think you really need more items (and more variety) to keep people's interest.

to get more visitors, have you tried printing simple flierss and handing them out to cool-looking peeps?

rhicooqui, some are google results, some are found through sewing world magazine (love it!) but i've not actually ordered from any of them! ( i did order some printed labels from kliens though) i was suprised at hobbycraft's lack of interesting handles too. i think it's a more 'carftu' shop that a 'sewing' shop.

lady bag, that's a really nice site you've got there! love those rattan handles, think i'll have to treat myself soon! what are those amy butler bag patterns like, are they easy to follow? i love her shapes.

i started a thread on this board aaages ago about bag handles but it seems to have disappeared  Sad

www.kleins.co.uk is amazing, and the cheapest out of all the sites i've seen.

you could also try www.josyrose.co.uk

hope that helps  Grin

I didn't know you could order some from John Lewis Shocked Very cool.

I ordered a load from minilabels.co.uk. The 'Cash' design ones. The variety of colours was fantasic. I would have like a wider range of fonts though.
