Yes! It was from a sheet (as was the purse I made)  and I still have TONS left.. I could probly make another skirt and purse actually!

As for a tut... I can try to make one tomorrow or so ... It was actually just a Simplicity pattern (7229?)  I think the only thing I added was lining.. but I'll try to relive it and write it down for you Smiley

My crafty ventures - purses edition

Purses were the first thing I made when I got my sewing machine.  They're my favorite things to make  Smiley

I made this one to match the skirt I made (it's over on the clothing board) but I made it before i knew what interfacing was so it's floppy  Cheesy  One day I'll have to take it apart and redo it. (btw, almost two years later, I still haven't done this -2/28/07) The straps are just big zippers!

This was a t-shirt from a jungle collective in central FL.  I don't know if you can read it but the side with all the writing has the definition of a junglist.  It's silly but I think it's soooo cute as a purse.

I think this is one of the first purses I made.  It was totally freehand from a shirt and some corduroy pants. It's reversible and one of the pockets has a little button closure (I sewed the other one shut lol)  I did a pretty good job (I think) for not knowing what the hell I was doing.  It's all dirty cuz I loved it so much  Wink

Ok so here are my ventures into craftiness - clothing edition

I made most of them a while back.

This is from a pattern.  I can tell you which one if you want.  Just an A-line skirt with a drawsting at the top.  It's lined in plain white.  (I made a matching purse but it's going in the purse section)

This was a big tee.  I didn't use a pattern just winged it.  The flares on the edge are the tops of the sleeves and the back comes down farther than the front.

I never wore this tank much but somehow it got a stain so I put a little felt flower on it and now I want to wear it all the time  Cheesy  It took maybe 5 min.

Thanks  Cheesy

It's actually a cartoon of the guys from Korn.  I'm not really a fan but I got the shirt for free a loong time ago when I worked at Hot Topic.  I just kept it around for such an occasion!

After I took the pic I decided to hem the top down an inch or so and I sewed a little more of a curve down the side and it is looks a LOT better! (at least it fits me a lot better)

Ok your shirt is super cute and insipired me Smiley

So I made one of my own tonight.  Not nearly as cute as yours but I'm just glad I did something crafty!

Not sure if you can see this pic - my monitor is really dark

Here's a closer shot:

So yea... it's sloppy but it's something, right?  Wink

edited to fix picture urls.
4746  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: AVOID EBAY, UNLESS YOU ARE SELLING CHEAPLY. on: March 05, 2005 08:19:16 PM
My job is selling on Ebay (not crafty stuff though) and so I peruse around the site a lot.  I just have to point out that when you start out you're not going to get exactly the prices you want but I have seen quite a few girls who sell their DIY clothes and make out like BANDITS!  They've been around a while and they've cultivated a following so their pieces go for a really great amount.
