431  Re: Blue/Green Hair Dye in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by jungrrl on: June 19, 2005 07:04:55 PM
This is what happened to me when my fishbowl faded...

but when it was new it was the color of blue jello.  I mean EXACTLY the color of blue jello.  I have a picture of me holding it up to my hair for comparison.

432  Tie wristband and necklace. - 4 pics in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jungrrl on: June 19, 2005 08:36:19 AM
Well, this is kinda jewelry but not.  Kinda reconstructed clothing but not.  So I put it here (If it needs to be moved, then by all means)

What do you think?

The buttons are vintage (afaik) and seem to be made of stone? or something?  They're odd but pretty.

433  Before and After Bam shirt. in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jungrrl on: June 15, 2005 11:36:28 PM
Before:

(pictures gone. Sad It was just a long sleeved shirt though)

After:

It was sooooooo easy.  Used the ribbon ruching tute on ohmystars and just cut off the sleeves. The ribbon is just fabric from the sleeves cut into a long strip.  Part of me wants to cut a v-neck and cut the straps thinner but most of me wants to leave well enough alone.  I know it's not the most amazing reconstruction ever but I'm pretty proud of it.

434  I made a dress! I'm special ;) - McCall's 4825 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by jungrrl on: June 11, 2005 10:30:22 AM

excuse my weirdness, lol

McCall's pattern 4825

Dress A with straps and belt from Dress C
Zipper closure instead of buttons and loops.

This dress was the bane of my existence last Friday.

I had finished the majority of it but needed to put in a zipper, attach the straps and tack down the lining.  I was going back home and figured my grandma would help me with all this and I could just use her sewing machine.  Well we started leisurely, tacking the side together and chatting and such.  Then realized we didn't have a zipper foot..... then searched my grandma's craft barn (yes, she has a whole barn - well, a little mini-barn - full of craft stuff)..... then went back and forth from the fabric stores 3 times before we realized that what they had didn't fit the machine.... then went to Wal-mart and I said "let's just buy some Liquid Fabric just in case".... then tried to sew in the zipper with a regular foot, decided that didn't work and then finally 5 hours later glued in the damn zipper. THEN we attached the straps and I tacked down the lining.

Did I mention I was wearing it to a wedding the next day? lol

I need to redo the straps since they're coming undone and I need to hem the bottom so it doesn't fray but that's about it.  I LOVE the fabric.  Got it on ebay for MEGA-cheap and it's way cuter in person than it was in the auction so I was stoked. (I can give the name of the seller if anyone wants it. - via PM, of course -  Don't know how often she sells fabric but she doesn't do the titles well so they don't get found and thus don't get bids)
It's not the most flattering for my figure but it's cool.

so yea.  First thing I've made that was more complicated than a simple skirt.

Finished product. (well, mostly. It was a rush job so I have to redo some things and hem the bottoms)

4825 (I think, I can't rememeber now and am too lazy to look)
Dress A with straps and belt from Dress C
Zipper instead of buttons.

436  Re: 80's Cartoon Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by jungrrl on: June 11, 2005 08:46:50 AM
Smiley  I'm so glad you like it all Megan!  I thought it was cool stuff but then I saw your and wished I'd put in some more heheh

I did take pics!

Transformer skirt (a-line w/ drawstring - I just modified a pattern I had)

Two Beetlejuice journal-y things (yay for boyfriends in art school who have every prismacolor pen known to man)

Autobot Logo embroidery on a purchased tote

I decided to do the tote VERY last minute and I wish I'd thought of it earlier because there were more things I would've done to it.  I really wanted to put a Decepticon logo on the other side and/or put "Megantron" on it in some awesome font, but I didn't have time.  Ah well, such is life.  Turned out pretty good I think for that  being my first use of realy embroidery floss (usually I just use thread!)

I swear I have never seen stuff as cool as I just got today from megantron.

I was walking out the door to go buy an air conditioner (it was soooo hot in my apt today I couldn't do anything but sweat) and I stumble upon a gigantic package.

Here were the contents:

A super cute pink ribbed tank with a Rainbow Brite transfer

Detail of Ms. Rainbow

With the most adorable pin (is it shrinky dink? whatever it is I have to get some. it's sooo amazing)

A She-Ra lampshade.  Her sword and the edges of her cape are cut out of the shade.  I have no idea how she did this but it's freaking awesome....

And finally the single cutest thing I have EVER seen in my entire life.... I seriously teared when I saw it.  Gobo was the name of one of my rats (he passed about about 6 months ago) and he was the love of my life in rat form, so this really got to me, even more than the pin.  (oh, I forgot to mention, if you can't tell it's a painting and it's going in my bedroom)

Close up (these colors look truer to life on my monitor)

I almost didn't let megantron into the swap because she was technically 3 days shy of 1 month.  I am SOOOOOOOO glad that I let her in and chose her as my partner! (She was the only one who chose Transformers and I had a mint sheet.... so it made sense)

I seriously thank you sooo much.  Kiss This is the coolest stuff I've ever seen Smiley
I know I'm laying it on thick but it's true! You are one talented girl and I really appreciate everything.  I thought my package was good until I saw this! Now I wish I had done more. Cheesy  I'm pretty sure you'll like it but still, it doesn't compete with this!

Ok so here's all the wicked stuff anna3LC sent me.

My animals were rats and elephants.

Here's my rattie card.

The cutest bobblehead I've ever seen in my life.

My roller-skating elephant wrap skirt

detail

and the most adorable pillows EVER!!!! They're elephant butts and they look sooooo good on my couch!  My friend is coming in two weeks and she's going to be so insanely jealous (she loves elephants, too). Wink

(and Anna, don't worry about the second one not being filled.  I seriously have a backpack full of polyfil that I haven't had anything to do with!)

Ok here goes.  Cats a la jungrrl for Rosemary.

This is my FAV.  It was the first plush I've made and I almost didn't want to give him/her up.

A clutch with a kitty and heart applique

I didn't think enough to sew on the applique BEFORE I put on the velcro so it's wonky where I tried to sew through it  Embarrassed

A collar (my first one, it's a little rough.  I hope Rosemary's cat is a girl  Wink I didn't ask!)

A bracelet (the candy kid in me keeps trying to re-emerge)

I really enjoyed this one! Can't wait to get my package!

So yea.  Everyone on dial-up probably wants to kick me right now!  Wink
