gotta download the pics off my camera and then I'll be able to show ya'll what I just made this morning.
I loved this challenge - gave me a chance to make something I actually needed! (A proper bag to hold the EpiPen for my very allergic son.)
Here's a little slideshow of my attempt at pics while making this:

Here's a pic of the inside - showing the pocket, holding the EpiPen.

I went to:
http://www.trafficsignstore.com/recreation.htmland printed out the image for: Emergency Medical Services and used tracing paper to get it transferred to my fabric.
Used Fabric paint for the snake/rod emblem. Some left over diaper twill for the white part, and some left over blue fabric from the stockings I made for the boys for Christmas.
It was my first attempt at embroidery and you can tell, but hey, the bag is usable. I figure even though it's kind of a stitch and botch, it's still entertaining and useful to me, so I thought I'd share.
Please be gentle with me. I'm new at this sewing stuff and don't have patterns - so it takes me a LONG time to figure out how to make what I want.
Oh, my proud moment on this bag - I figured out how to sew pleats on the bottom of the pocket, and then used some leftover diaper elastic in a casing for the top part of the pocket. Looks pretty nice, Ithink. (at least for a first attempt at a pocket. LOL)
It may not be a true interpretation of a traffic sign - the interfacing isn't holding as stiff as I was hoping, but the idea is there at least.

Oh, if anyone knows how to make slideshows show up on these boards, pls let me know - I am using photobucket.
