1  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Northeast / Appleton/Fox Valley get together? on: October 03, 2007 02:16:16 PM
Hi! I just moved to Appleton and don't know anyone yet!

I love to sew and craft, and would love to have a little craft get-together in this area. Is there anyone close by who would be interested? I could even host it at my place.

About me: I'm 23, engaged and planning a crafty wedding, and working at a recycling nonprofit.

Thanks,
Annie:-)

Right now my schedule is pretty free in January, so I can do any night. Where will it be?

January sounds great! We should come up with a date now so we can mark it in our calendars a few weeks in advance.

Did this get started up? I would love to come to the next one!

you might look into NW/Nob Hill instead of downtown. It's only about a 15-20 minute walk to downtown (or a 10 minute streetcar ride!), and it's a pretty cute neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. I rent a one-bedroom there for $605. I just walked around and wrote down all the phone numbers on the apartment buildings and starting calling until I found one available. If you use craigslist, be sure to check really often and call as soon as it's posted, because they go really fast.
