For Christmas I wanted to make my niece some silk butterfly wings for her to play dress up with. I found a tutorial on how to make some adorable tie dyed butterfly wings, but I decided I wanted hers to look like a monarch butterfly. So, after watching about 10 hours of youtube videos on how to paint on silk I ordered the supplies and gave it a go. For my first try I think they turned out nice. There are definitely things I would do different, but she likes them and that is all that matters. I don't have a picture of her playing in them yet. They were lots of fun to do and my boys (8 and 4) got to help paint them. Boys rock, but sometimes it is nice to take a break from lego, star wars, and car crafts and do something girly
