1  Re: Machine Knitters Unite! in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by blakee741 on: February 12, 2014 05:24:10 PM
I too have wiped the dust off my knitting machine and began playing with it.  I have a Bond Ultimate Sweater machine, which i have made a few pairs of bulky socks, and an Passap knitting machine that i purchased at a flea market for $5.  I have made a few pairs of socks.

2  Daughters Lime Green Prom dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by blakee741 on: May 31, 2009 05:46:24 PM
this wasn't really a recon...but i embellished this dress and did a few minor touch ups. WE found it at the salvation army.  My 16 year old daughter wanted something different to wear than all the other girls so with a bit of black lace, some safety pins, and some nips here and tucks there...We came to this dress...let me know what you think

was raining so they were running to the car.

3  3X Tee into shaply T for teen daughter in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by blakee741 on: May 29, 2009 07:21:26 PM
Sorry no before pics

Was an XXXLg shirt of my hubbys that he didnt like and my daughter did.  She wanted to wear it but swam in it when she put it on.  she is 6'2 so the length was pretty ok...just a bit long but the rest was way way way too big.  So i added some elastic on the sides and under the arms and did the normal take in on the sides...let me know what you think

4  80's style shimmer shirt into a doggie Ballerina dress for my Bella"rina" in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by blakee741 on: February 22, 2009 11:59:58 AM
I couldn't decided what to make out of this shirt i had been given.  I loved the color and feel, however it was quite see through and was a 4X...i figured i would revamp it one way or another.

I call my my puppy Bella "Rina" and thought she needed a ballerina costume to go with her name.  This is the first one i have made and think i am going to make her a leather one as well.  I trimmed it in a yellow and green rick rack.  Tell me what you think...

I found this ugly green and black tiedyed sweat shirt at the sal val.  I thought it would be great for an accent to a Dino hoodie.  I think it turned out OK for being my first one i made.  Let me know what you think.

6  Civil War gown for 16 year old daughter in Costumes: Completed Projects by blakee741 on: January 29, 2009 05:01:08 PM
My daughter goes to some of the civil war reenactments and needed a ball gown.  She is 6'2 so buying her a dress was out of the question.  She wore a 6 boned hoop underneath and the peticote was made from a bed skirt.

7  black and red satin infinity dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by blakee741 on: January 29, 2009 04:22:14 PM
I made this dress for DHs Christmas party.  I used a XXL long red silk skirt and an XXL black satin shirt.  Used the sleeves for the bust/wrap around area and the remainder for the tie up waist part.  Let me know what you think.

this is the lace up back

This is the bust area.  you can see at the base of my "breasts" that it is actually the wrist area of the shirt.

8  Checkered hoodie & capri (first post) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by blakee741 on: July 25, 2008 05:58:41 PM
This is my first time posting to this site although i have been a lurker for a long long time.  I recently was given an 80's style skirt suit.  It was too big and just way too ugly... so i decided to get to work. I didnt take before pics as i wasnt sure what i was going to make out of it. I had made the hoodie and i was looking at the remaining part of the jacket and thought....this would make great pants...so let me know what you think...
