I've been absent from this thread for a bit. lol. I have one small item done and I'm getting ready to go start my next one. (Literally, right after I post this.) And I've got IDEAS for others! Cheesy It took me so long to come up with something I thought my partner would like.
22  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Advice Needed -- Unusual October Colors? on: July 24, 2008 04:14:07 PM
Yay for October weddings! (Halloween here!)

My colors are sort of "fall" but not overly traditional fall colors. lol. Apple red, gold, and chocolate brown. We were going for warm colors.

Ah, who am I kidding? We're having a fall themed wedding, pumpkins and cornucopias will abound!

I think blue and green and creme are LOVELY choices, and after all, it is your wedding. You can choose to have florescent yellow and orange if it's what you really want! Wink
23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Save the Dates (pics)--- where should I print them on: July 24, 2008 04:04:51 PM
You can get them printed as a 4x6 photo at snapfish.com. That's where I have the photos printed for my business, so the quality is great, and the price is right. (About 8 cents per 4x6) Then they'd be easy to stuff in envelopes and mail off. Smiley

Scottie, it's the new digital camo. They came out with it... maybe 2 years ago? I don't quite remember, as all the military men I know joined up within the last year. lol. Standard issue now, though, I believe.

Momma2FIVEgirls: I was talking to her mom about the jacket, and we decided we'd put it in with her 3, 6, 9, and 12 month sittings as well. I can't wait to get my lens on her again! She was a sweetie. And thanks for the tips!

Haha, I had my very first newborn session today. A girl I went to highschool with recently had a BEAUTIFUL baby girl, named Haillee Nicholle. Here are a couple of the shots:

This one is over done, I know. I just had to try it, though. Haillee was NOT a fan. I popped off 4 shots and then we stopped.

Daddy is in the National Guard.

There are a few more, but I'll stop there. CC definitely welcomed and appreciated!

29  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: 4th of July Fiber Friday 2008! on: July 03, 2008 10:48:52 PM
You have NO IDEA how excited I am to finally be able to post here. I got tired of waiting to buy a pre-made spindle from Etsy, so I went to hobby lobby and picked up all the stuff I needed to make my own. (Precut dowel rod, predrilled round thingy [lol], cup hook, and wool for needle felting.)

The wool is kind of blah and the only good thing about it is the wide variety of colors, but it'll do for practicing until I get better with spinning. ANYWAY!

The teal and blue is spun with alternating strands of the colors, and then plied with itself, and the pink/gray is spun with two held together as one.

They're nothing fabulous, or even good, really... but it's a start!

He looks adorable!

And yay for hands-free boobie feeding!

I saw a pattern for one of these at Jo-Ann's today. I might pick it up for use later in life, because the sling I made to carry my nephew turned out quite wonky. Tongue
