Hi I am new to embroidering, but when i saw Jenny Harts designs at my local craft store I had to buy one or two so now I have a new hobby. i still don't know what I am doing really but I watched some online tutorials. thank you needlenthread.com. I am happy with how it turned out! here's a closeup of the rocket I was going for a curious George style. THe background fabric is actually light blue.

I originally was going to incorporate this piece into a skirt for my dd. but I didn't lay it out on the cloth the right way.  Maybe I can applique it on, any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

Here is my paper bead bracelet. inspired by many posts I have seen here on craftster. I used an old magazine glue, mod podge and elastic string stuff. I had enough beads to make a bracelet for my daughter as well

Does anyone have any advice on tying knots in the elastic!?

I just bought to jungle theme pillow cases at the thrift store.  I think the fabric is cool and want to make something out of them.  but I don't know what. the other side has elephants and zebras.



Any Ideas?
I have 2 pillow cases 32 x 19.  I am open to any ideas, from home decor to PJ's for dd.

I finished(sorta) my dd's christmas dress!  I had to finish it on the fly two hours before going to have holiday pictures taken with her cousins. I ran out of thread and had to stitch witch the hem, it didn't work very well and started coming apart after an hour

I was looking at the tutorial list for Xmas gift ideas and decided to try wallets.  Very satisfying! quick to make and you can use all the cool fabric scraps I don't have the heart to throw away

the sleeves and jacket are a little too long, so maybe it will fit her in the spring.  I need a tutorial on how to shape sleeve caps and sleeve holes. arrgh

I am making a christmas dress for my dd. There is a black velvet waist band and I am planning on making a bow out of the velvet. The bow will be attatched after the dress is completed.  However now that the time has come to make the bow(which seemed the simplest part during the planning stage), I am wondering how exactly to make a bow out of velvet and have it look nice and pro. 
Sorry if the answer is totally obvious. I am new to sewing and don't want to waste a lot of material experimenting.

I just finished this bear for my dd. I followed a Debbie bliss pattern in a book my sis has.


I love the mismatched huge eyes.

The dress i made for her? turned out too small but I really like the collar. Maybe I should make some pants too.
What do you think?
Also if i was to do this pattern again I would stuff the bear with fabric scraps instead of white stuffing because it shows through to much.  Or maybe just stuff it less.
any way I am super happy with how It turned out and hope dd loves it too!

Has anyone purchased a dress form that they love and are truly happy with?

I want to get a dress form for Christmas, but now that I am looking at them I'm not sure.  The singer 150 has an adjustable torso length( I have a freakishly long torso) but all the reviews say it is flimsy. I haven't found any dress forms with great reviews. Do they all just suck?
 
I am considering just making a duct tape form but I would like a adjustable form so I could make clothes for other people too.
