21  Pickled eggs! in Recipes and Cooking Tips by jeha on: September 06, 2011 07:33:42 PM
My husband requested that I make some pickled eggs.  I was lucky to get a photo before he ate them all! The yellow one was made using my trusty mustard egg recipe. The dark brown one was an experiment using balsamic vinegar. They look so cool I was thinking that pickled eggs could be for Halloween the way dyed eggs are for Easter.

If you would like the recipe it is on my blog.
Also if anyone is interested in doing a pickled egg cook along for Halloween I think it would be fun!

22  Honey Peach Ice Cream with Peach Vanilla Bean Jam......Peachy in Dessert by jeha on: September 04, 2011 12:33:35 PM
I recently came into possesion of a large amount of colorado peaches, and a new ice cream maker here's the result, Honey peach ice cream and peach vanilla Bean Jam.

They both turned out delicious.  They actually taste better seperately, both together is a little overkill in the flavor department. But for the sake of brevity I give you one photo.  If you are interested in the recipes I blogged about it.

23  Unique Jean Skirt- Another reason to hoard old jeans in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jeha on: September 01, 2011 11:50:26 AM
I recently made this layered jean skirt. I used 3 pairs of old jeans.

I really love how it turned out. I wanted it to have a tiered effect.
If you would like to know more I blogged about it.
What do you think?

24  Best way to add ruffle to bottom of skirt in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by jeha on: November 11, 2010 12:17:51 PM
I am making this skirt for my daughter

I want to make a ruffle out of the scarf you can see peeking out at the bottom. I am not sure the best way to do this. I don't think I am going to hem the bottom, maybe just stitch it to prevent too much fraying. I want the scarf fabric to look like another skirt layer sticking out the bottom. Sorry I'm not sure what its called.

Thanks

25  random clothing pieces into funky armwarmers in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jeha on: November 11, 2010 12:07:42 PM
I was inspired by this etsy shop posting
http://www.etsy.com/listing/61413214/arm-warmers-in-shades-of-brown-and-beige?ref=v1_other_1
I made to sets of armwarmers from a blue grey levi's sweater, a orange wool skirt, and the bright blue is from the sleeves of a sweatshirt I cut off.

I tried for some action shots but it is really hard to take a pic of your own arm

Disregard the dates on the pictures my camera seems to be living in the past.

Thanks for looking!

26  So I decided to make a birdhouse out of soda cans and bottles........ in Discussion and Questions by jeha on: June 16, 2009 08:48:52 PM
I want to make birdhouse, using green plastic bottles cut up for shingles and the main house made of soda cans pounded flat. I really have no idea how to build anything. I am fairly crafty, but not in the power tool building stuff kind of way (yet). So I have come to ask advice from my fellow craftsters. How would you build it?  Also to make things more complicated, I think it would be really cool to have a little bird bath attached that filled up with rain runoff from the roof.

I also plan on furnishing the house with a nest and tiny quilt (to keep the eggs warm).

28  Grandma Shirt to somewhat cool shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jeha on: February 10, 2009 08:53:29 PM
Unfortunately I failed to take a before pic but imagine shoulder pads and giant grandma huge top made to wear with leggings.

I think I failed at awesomness. But it is wearable. It still keeps clutching at its grandmaesque roots.
Let me know what you think.

thanks
