I made a red version of this a few years ago for my mother. I used a wall hanging pattern and just made the pieces larger, 2.5 inches instead of 1.5 inches. Mostly it went well until we moved house in wet weather and I unwrapped the quilt a few weeks later to see some mould. I tried bleaching it out but in the end I had to unpick some quilting and replace parts of the orangey border then trim the outer border and reattach it. it used to be twice as wide.

Mostly it is just straight line quilting but I did a continuous rose pattern in the outer border. The binding is reversible as I had some leftovers and couldn't find a fabrics that went well with both sides of the quilt.

I'm making a Noni bag. It's felted with felted flower embellishments. The flower has a beaded bobble in the centre. but the pattern contains no instructions for the beading at all. (Or attaching the handles, or where to attach the embellishments. Her bags are beautiful. Her patterns not so much.)

Is there a specific technique I should use here? Or do I just start insanely beading away?

I'm a beginner beader. Mainly I have used them as embellishment to embroidery.

My UFO's have been piling up and stressing me into not quilting. I haven't finished one in two years. Although I have worked on some of my 16 UFOs. My dd asked for me to finish hers on Dec 13 and I had it done by Dec 23rd. We are moving so I packed up all but the two quilts closest to being finished. Hopefully I will finish them soon.

So, any suggestions as to how to do the bobbles? I can crochet a ball and stuff it with my wool leftovers. Or would non-felting insides be better? Knit a square or circle and drawstring it shut? Would this be round like this when felted? Or do you think they are hollow?

I have eight balls of Moda Vera which I didn't realise until it arrived, goes thick and thin along the thread. I made a newsboy cap out of the other two balls (originally threre were ten) and that turned out well. I'd like to have a go at the Puffy Slouchy hat. Would this yarn be okay with an intricate pattern like that, or should I stick to 'solid' pattens? Anything else I shoudl know about it?

For my second knitting project (I love to overreach myself) I started the Transformers Toque for my son. Sadly, my MIL, whom I asked to buy me some 4 ply, bought 5 ply instead and my gauge was off. I went down to the next size of DPNs I have and stated knitting. Well, it turns out that I am a tight knitter (plus, I didn't gauge) and, now that I am at Row 26, I think the toque will only be about 14 inches around.

I really don't want to unravel what I have done, but had the idea that maybe I could just finish the charted part of the knitting, bind it off then make something with that?  A bag? It would be tiny 6 x 7 inches? Um, any other suggstions?

I found this really old pattern for a hostess apron which I would like to make. The pattern calls for figured nylon. I have no idea what that is. Does anyone know if there is another name for it?  Google came up with three pages for it, most just chance combinations of the words.

Since nylon is not as popluar as it once was, I will not be surprised if I can't find the exact thin, but would anyone know what to substitute for it. Most of my fabric is 100% cotton.

I used this free pattern. It took a bit of translating and I had to frog it four times before getting it right. THis is the first one, the second one is only half done. I double stranded for the final row.

It was my, lets see, fourthi(sh) crochet project.

Okay, I went a bit nuts on eBay and bought some undyed handspun merino for a really good price. So, now I have to do something with it. It's all rolled up really nicely and professionally and much better than I could do it. So, do I have to unroll it to dye it (I'm guessing yes). Or.. could I crochet something with it first, then dye the finished object. That would have the benefit of dying exactly the right amount for the job. Is one better than the other?

Any preferences on dyes for wool? I have read through the FAQ and a few of the posts, but erally I have no idea whatsoever. I will have to mail order whatever I use since I live in a really small town and all I could get would be grocery store dyes, which do not seem to be recommended.
