11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Shop the Swap Winter Market-Discussion Thread! on: November 19, 2012 10:55:49 PM
Socunds delicious but I doubt AQIS would allow it into Australia. I finally bought buttons for my Wisp now I just have to sew them on. If anyone is interested in it, telling me would motivate me to get it done more quickly. *hint*

I am still a point short. Is there anything anyone wants?

Foolishly, I made both girls knitted items for their birthday, now the boys have dropped hints about gettign something for Christmas, so there goes my stress free December. Youngest son is getting a small case for his DS but I think it will be socks for older DS. Any tips on custom fitting? He had a long skinny foot. So far, I think I am going to use 3mm needles so I can use the hat I just made as a gauge swatch.

A hat definietly, he's twelve, but that was the only pattern i could find that wasn't a sock monkey or Curious George.

Would anyone like to knit me a monkey beanie? My son wants something with a monkey on it.

I was thinking of this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-dish-monkey but maybe in colourwork instead of texture. Maybe texture would be nice too, though. His favourite colour is green and he's twelve. It's a ravelry link so you'll need to be a member.

Or maybe this one? http://downcloverlaine.blogspot.com.au/2009/09/imp-bib_19.html

Sansa, it wasn't me that asked for the sock leftovers, but I am planning on a beekeepers quilt in the future and am collecting sock yarn for that so I might be interested if the original person that asked passes on it.   Smiley

I didn't promise them to her or anything. She made the suggestion of things that she might like so they are definitely up for grabs. I have a small amount of green sock yarn in my shop but with no pic and it is probably overpriced. I only had four small things so they had to be 1/4 point each or else they couldn't be claimed. I'll have to measure and bundle up what is left and take a pic so it is more appealing.

Hi, I'm back. okay, I forgot to tell you I was away so you probably didn't miss me. We unexpectedly had the weekend off work and got roped into attending a Scout camp instead. I made most of a hat for my daighter on the trip there and back. So, whoever wanted sock yarn for the beekeepers quilt can probably have my Wollmeise leftovers. I will take a pic in the next few days, once I have blocked it and made sure it fits.

I'm still not organised. I found my camera but it has a flat battery and I can't find the charger.

I finally sent my sign up in. I was a bit behind on my items to swap. Knitting again. I think some of us tok the Winter part of the swap seriously. It will probably take me a few days to take pics and get organised.

I've been in a bit of a crafting slump. Every project I started seemed to go nowhere. I finally got it together and started an Aran weight wisp with yarn from one of my frogged projects. Nice and easy. Now, if only I'll have enough yarn to finish it.

Next, I'm thinking of making a Holding Hands, Feeding Ducks scarf from the yarn pirate yarn I received in this swap. (Why do I buy these things when I know I won't wear the colours? Why? Why?) Unless anyone has any better suggestions.

As to things I'd like to buy, I'm still after a purple Winterberry. I think I had two people express an interest in making it but nothing was settled. Lxm and A2K I think?
