11  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / So you crochet, Kupo? Amigurumi Moogle on: July 24, 2014 05:32:59 PM
My swap partner received, so I can now post pictures.  She said she likes moogles so I found a cute pattern for one.  You can find the pattern here: http://sirentoshipwreck.tumblr.com/post/40698569410/amigurumimooglepattern

Here's how mine turned out:

He was fun to make!
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / We're all mad- Mad Hatter Pin Cushion on: July 21, 2014 02:20:23 PM
I like Alice in wonderland a lot.  The books and Disney cartoon are probably my favorite.  I was looking around the internet for patterns and I found a tutorial for this hat pincushion inspired by the Mad Hatter's hat.  The tutorial is here: http://beacrafter.com/crochet-mini-mad-hatter-hat/.  Mine came out a little fuzzy because I used a wool blend yarn.  I cut out a piece of felt and glued it to the bottom to hold the stuffing in.

And my good-natured cat was kind enough to model the hat.  Don't mind the lump on his head, it's harmless.  Smiley

This was really quick and fun to make.  As always C & C welcome.

13  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / I Crocheted Once. It was awful. Grumpy Cat Amigurumi on: July 20, 2014 05:40:16 PM
I love Grumpy Cat.  I want to go steal her and take her home and cuddle her and love her.  But since stealing is wrong, so I made my own.  I got the pattern from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/127255392/crochet-pattern-grumpy-cat-amigurumi-pdf?ref=listing-shop-header-1

Anyway, here's cute little Tardar Sauce.

I couldn't find cat safety eyes so I just used regular.

And a bonus shot of Cleo and her new little buddy.

She was really fun and pretty quick to make.  As always C&C Welcome.
14  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Amigurumi Clothing on: July 18, 2014 07:31:18 AM
I love dolls and I love crocheting them. I've found a basic doll body pattern and would love to make one of my favorite characters out of it. But I don't know how to make clothes without a pattern. I've never made a sweater or anything for myself, so I'm not sure I could wing it. Are there any tutorials or helpful hints anyone can share with me?
15  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Gray Warden Motto Cross Stitch on: June 25, 2014 08:23:40 PM
I'll admit that I'm more than slightly obsessed with the video game Dragon Age: Origins.  I really love the Gray Warden motto so I thought it would be really cool to have it cross stitched.  I designed the border myself, and even though it's pretty simple I'm still proud of it.  I tea-dyed the aida, then hand painted the "blood stains" with acrylic paint mixed with a medium to make the paint permanent on fabric.  The paint was much more vibrant on regular aida, I think the tea affected how the aida took it.  But I still think it looks cool.

16  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Kingdom Key Glasses Case on: June 21, 2014 03:39:52 PM
Since I couldn't find anymore of those cute aida coin purses, I decided to buy a glasses case instead.  It's pretty much a rectangle and I was thinking about what I could cross stitch on it that would fit.  Why not a key blade?  I used my PC Stitch to make the pattern then stitched it up.

17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Morrigan Cosplay for My Doll (Pic Heavy) on: June 10, 2014 06:32:52 PM
For those of you who aren't familiar, Morrigan is a character from the video game Dragon Age.  Here's a terrible reference for her outfit (it's hard to find a clear picture of the whole thing): http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Morrigan%27s_Robes.  I'm going to Denver Comic Con this week and I thought I might want to take my doll.  But she needed something to wear!  Her hair kind of looks like Morrigan's, and I thought it would be a fairly easy cosplay.  Not bad for having no idea what I'm doing and $6.

Her top is panne velvet, sleeves, cuffs and boots are fake stretchy leather.  The necklace is a pendant I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

I can't take credit for the staff.  I borrowed it from a poppet made for me by Kookaloo_Starr.

I don't know how to make boots.  So I faked it.

I had fun making this.  Amazingly, I made everything without a pattern.  Thanks for looking!
18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Rupee Coin Purse and a Birthday Card- ETA Nuka Cola Button on: June 06, 2014 11:11:13 PM
I found this cute little coin purse at Michael's.  I didn't like the design that came with it, but I bought it thinking I could stitch something cute and geeky onto it.  Then it hit me- rupees!

Here's my Nuka Cola button.  I hand painted the aida to get the right color.

And here's a little embroidery I did for my Gramcracker.  I'm mailing it out to her tomorrow.

These were both pretty quick and fun to make.
19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Hand Dying or Painting Aida on: June 06, 2014 10:49:41 AM
I'd like to try dying or painting my own aida, but I don't know what to use. Watercolors? Acrylics? Rit fabric dye? Any help and guidance is appreciated!
20  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Dova Keychain on: May 19, 2014 09:28:40 PM
I can't remember where I found the pattern for this, so if anyone knows please share so I can give credit to the person that created it. Smiley

I love Skyrim.  It's one of the best games ever made.  The soundtrack, the landscapes, the thu'um...  I saw this pattern and thought it would make a cute little keychain so I can show off my love for the Dovakin.
