11  "McDonalds will make you fat " – Wesley Willis xstitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by benjibot on: December 02, 2008 06:30:16 AM

I'm so danged proud of this one. I didn't come up with the art—it's from the Minipop collection by Craig Robinson—nor did I first come up with the idea to cross stitch said artwork—I found this on Flickr before I decided to do this. That said, the end result came out precisely as I had envisioned and I did lay it out myself.

So pleased with this am I that I elected to release it despite my pre-Christmas Internet posting embargo. This is going to be a gift, though I don't know to whom just yet. I didn't want to risk spoiling anyone's surprise. Or the surprise of certain persons anyway. I'll risk it for this one though.

12  Cross-stitch baby onesies in Needlework: Completed Projects by benjibot on: November 03, 2008 03:43:51 PM
A little while back I finished a batch of cross-stitch baby onesies. It was my first attempt to stitch on anything other than Aida fabric.

I made a total of four. Two of them I sent to my friend who just had a baby. I only sent two, because I was afraid she'd just grow out of them by the time I'd finished and mailed them.

All four of them are classic NES game characters. They are the Metool from Mega Man (specifically Mega Man 2, when he got feet), the blue bike from Excitebike, the zombie from Castlevania, and the Slime from Dragon Quest.

I'm pretty pleased. I'm looking forward to slapping more cross-stitch on clothing and other whatsits.

There's a bit more info on my personal site: Sorry Town, USA

13  sad iPod in Needlework: Completed Projects by benjibot on: June 13, 2008 09:38:24 AM
It is my earnest hope that this is the only time you need to see this guy. A few days ago my 4G iPod conked out, showing the following icon I have since represented in cross stitch.

R.I.P. Beren. You're playing podcasts in gadget heaven now.

In celebration of my relatively new ability to post images on the forum, and because I distinctly recall someone eagerly looking forward to this, allow me to present the 16th Dragon Warrior monster: the Wyvern

16  Legend of Zelda cross stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by benjibot on: December 12, 2006 08:13:48 AM
Greetings craftsters!

It's going to be a very cross stitch x-mas at our household this year. My wife and I have been furiously stitching since late November. We've each completed a half-dozen or so projects, and there's so much more to do. I've been getting ever more and more obsessed with cross stitchery, so much so that I haven't bothered to upload any of the photos I've taken.

I do, however, have one project online. It's the nice Moblin from The Legend of Zelda.

(I'd post a photo, but I'm just too new to do that yet.)
There are more 8bit creations lined up and waiting to be photographed. I really need to put down my needles and pick up my mouse and do that.
