1  Re: HELP! Slight save the date crisis! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Love2dance14 on: February 02, 2008 11:16:57 AM
Thanks guys for all the opinions, my mom thought it looked a lot like "lave" too. Thanks so much for offering to put the snowflakes on there for me! I worked on another one last night, and I think I like it a whole lot. The blue space will be smaller because they cut part of it off when they make the magnets.

I really liked the one with the snowflakes on it, but I think I like the hearts a little more. They just seem so cheerful  and wedding-ish. Grin Plus, I have been searching high and low for everything on sale with a snowflake on it, and I think that if I had to stare at those snowflakes on my refridgerator for a whole year I would go nuts!  Cheesy

2  HELP! Slight save the date crisis! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by Love2dance14 on: February 01, 2008 07:18:04 PM
Okay, I discovered the website www.picnik.com from some other Craftsters, and I decided to make our save the date magnets with it.

Here is where the problem is: Our wedding date was originally Dec 20th, 2008, so I made this picture to be put on a magnet. Our theme is blue, white, silver, snowflakes, etc.

Now we have changed our wedding date, and Picnik no longer has the snowflake stamps! I don't have any kind of fancy photo editing software, like Photoshop, where I could just put a snowflake stamp on there.

I made this photo with the Valentine's stamps they had. Does it look bad? Should I try to find some way to put the snowflakes on there, or do you think it will even matter?   Huh

3  Lucky's Sea Creatures in Knitting: Completed Projects by Love2dance14 on: November 06, 2007 09:34:18 PM
For Lucky's 1st birthday, he had a pirate party! I decided that knitting some sea creatures was the way to go.

Here is the octopus. I got the pattern somewhere on here. His mom says that he loves to hold it while he sleeps.

After much frustration, I finally finished this crab! I made up the pattern as I went, and I have never really made up any kind of knitted thing like this. Lucky likes to put this one in his dump truck and push it around the house.

Here is the link to the whole gift! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=206526.msg2206408;topicseen#msg2206408

4  Pirate Stuff for Shane and Lucky! in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by Love2dance14 on: November 06, 2007 09:27:12 PM
My fiance, Shane, and his nephew, Lucky (yes that is his real name lol) have birthdays that are one day apart.
For their birthdays this year, Shane's 20th and Lucky's 1st, they had a sort-of joint birthday party. The theme was PIRATES!

Anyways, I had to come up with some cool pirate themed gifts. Here is what I gave them.

I made them each a treasure chest filled with treasure! I bought unfinished wood chests at AC Moore, then painted them brown. I painted the inside gold with gold spray paint, and I freehanded their names on the front with some gold leaf paint my grandmother had. I kinda messed up and sprayed some of the outside, but then I decided it looked kinda cool. I stood way back and sprayed all over to give it sort of a glittery look.

The stuff I got Shane mostly came from Deadmentellnotales. com. I got him a pirate shower curtain (which was his big request), a Pirate USA flag, gold dubloons, mini Pirates playing cards, a Pirate Weapon poster, some Pirate money, and a parrott (toy from Burger King!)

I thought this Pirate money was pretty funny! I bought two so I could frame them. I would've rather used gold letters, but the silver were the only ones I had at the time.

Here are Lucky's goodies. I got him two kids Pirate books, then I knitted an octopus, from a pattern I got on here somewhere, and I winged a pattern for a crab. Both were done in Red Heart Super Saver.

Thanks for looking!
P.S. First real post!
