3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Icecream on: June 26, 2007 11:24:09 AM

Sorry that the picture is crooked...I didn't notice that before! (Also, the flash on my camera made the icecream look very flat and almost cartoon-ish, so sorry about that too!)
This is a pastel that I did in class.  Any critique is welcome!
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / beach oil painting on: June 26, 2007 11:01:25 AM

This is an oil painting that I did in class. It is of a beach in the Bahamas.  (The colors are brighter and look better in person. My camera made them look dull.)

Any critique is welcome!
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Re: Paper Mache on: May 26, 2007 08:00:15 AM
from my experience, i think you can apply it directly to a canvas. i havent used paper mache on canvases but i have used paper wads and faric before so i'm guessing that it'd work.
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Ayn Rand on a folder. on: May 08, 2007 06:22:24 PM
i read 'Anthem' by Rand not too long ago and it is one of my favorite books! i plan on reading 'Atlas Shrugged' this summer! the stencil is awesome; i really like the idea of stenciling on school supplies (*rummages through backpack for things to stencil*)  Grin

Oh I know, how silly was all that new york nonsense! And the way magazines couldn't shut up about his sexuality! ughh! Speakig of birds, Mr Wolf made me realise how much I loved them with WITW, if that makes sense? As much as I want him to be happy, I'm so much looking forward to a return to his dark, angsty music ;P

yeah, everyone was spreading all sorts of rumors about his sexuality say that he did drugs and such..i dont blame him for being upset about it. and many of his songs made me fascinated w/ some many different things, such as birds, giraffes, and lighthouses. and i dont care what his upcoming songs sound like; i like the dark/angst-ridden songs and i also love the pop-ish/happy songs (right now i'm listening to magic position on repeat!) i just cant wait for him to start releasing more songs!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: what's the most ambitious (insane) thing you've knit? on: May 07, 2007 06:04:12 PM
well, i'm pretty new to knitting....but i guess i have something to add..
my very first project was a stuffy cat, and from what i can tell, most people seem to start off w/ much more basic stuff than that...
and now i'm on my second project, which is an entrelac scarf... also, as far as i can tell, that seems to even scare some of the more advanced knitters (which was my main reason for wanting to try it...) anyway, so far so good!  i really want to try a sweater or socks next!  Smiley

Thanks! I can't even begin to describe how much of an inspiration Mr Wolf is to me! We gotta spread the word! Did you hear the furore about his retirement? (don't worry, he retracted it and is working on a double concept album about the year 1666 ... Shocked )

i agree. i'm into art, and patrick has given me so much inspiration! he is slowly but surely getting more popular, and that's basically what lead to him stopping touring...i think he had issues w/ all the things people said about him....and i'm so excited for that double album!!!  Grin
