1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / The 'Burgh Baby Book (pic heavy!) on: April 01, 2007 07:59:32 AM
One of my very best friends is about to have her first baby and I wanted to make her & her hubby something special.  And we're both from Pittsburgh but she's living in China at the moment (long story) so I wanted to give her something that would remind her of home... what to do?

And then I saw this fabulous felt name book by annam42: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=122223.0

Thus "The 'Burgh Baby Book" was born!  The letters spell out 'Pittsburgh' and each one stands for something unique & special about our hometown.  It's hard to see the details in these pictures but everything is felt cutouts and hand embroidery.  The street sign on the last page says "Winterburn," which is the name of my friend's street (well, when she's not in China).

Thanks for looking (and thanks for the inspiration, annam42)!

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / custom wedding veil - first project post, please be nice! :) on: February 28, 2007 11:10:48 AM
Hi Everyone,
I've been luring on craftster forever (you guys rock, by the way!) but this is my first project post.  I hope it's worthy!

This is a veil I made for one of my best friends who got married last October.  I beaded it to match the bead detailing on the waist of her dress.  Here's a picture of the original bead detail:

Two pictures of the veil by itself (excuse the quality, it's kind of hard to take a really good picture of a veil!):

And pictures of the lovely bride wearing it.  Much better quality, since these are the professional photographer's pics!

The bride was pretty happy with it, thankfully.  Hope you guys like it, too!
Thanks for looking!
