1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Scrub top, the first of many on: June 03, 2007 04:37:35 AM
I'm going to cosmetology school and they require us to wear scrubs. I think it's kinda odd, but scrubs are comfy. I have a question though, how do you get the v-neck piece on? I made another top last night and the collar isn't laying flat. sorry for the blurry pic

Well I've decided it's a lot cheaper to sew my own scrubs for school than it is to buy them, so I made my own cut out...no pattern just eyed and here is my final creation. I like it, but I'll change my pocket placement on the next and hopefully find my thread stash. I might also try to make a v neck next.
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Coconut purses on: April 09, 2007 02:09:15 PM
Hi guys,  I was wondering if anyone had an idea on how to make a coconut purse like all those souviniers(sp) you see in Hawaii and Mexico. I can hollow out the nut, but how do I get smooth and attach the linning and zipper? Thanks, Rita
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Canning apron on: February 23, 2007 10:08:29 AM
Those are the same things Icame up with but I've seen a few finnished ones on the plainly dressed website and as far as I can tell they dont have sams on the shoulders. That's what is stumping me. Anyway here's a link to there http://plainlydressed.bravepages.com/aprons.html  If I can't figure it out soon I'm just going to put in the shoulder seams.

I was wondering if someon could help me figure out how to cut this apon out. I know it's only one piece and the only place you hve to stitch up is the middle part of the H in the back. Please help! I've tried every way I can think and can't get it cut out in one piece. Thanks
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Amish Mennonite clothing on: February 19, 2007 12:49:50 AM
I'm faid I can't afford patterns now or it looks anytime soon. I'm unemployed and work is very scarace. I had planned to use old clothing and stuff to make my dresses and bonnets. Anyway, I would really like to make a heart bonnet the most. I have an idea that might work if someone doesn't mind doing me a favor. I don't live in an area with Amish or Mennonite (their all abt 100mi N) and was wondering if someone that did live close might give them a letter from me asking on how to make the clothing or just ask one of the women for me, something along those lines. I could send you my address or I a letter.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Amish Mennonite clothing on: February 18, 2007 04:05:12 PM
I was wondering if anyone knew how or had patterns for Amish and Mennonite clothing. I'm trying to make different types of headcoverings for church and would like to make a few cape dresses for church too. Thanks
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / international pen pals on: January 17, 2007 03:59:50 AM
Hi everyone. I was wondering if there was anybody in Europe, Mid East, or Asia looking for an American penpal. Iposted in a pen pal thread a few days ago and was really hoping to find someone outside the US so I kind of learn about other places and swap stuff since I don't ever have time for a vacation. And of course it's always fun making new friends. Smiley  Here's the link to my post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42415.msg1435709#msg1435709
