21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The Mini Me Swap! sign ups 1st - 14th June, send outs 7th July on: June 04, 2008 06:18:57 PM
I'm not in on this swap but I saw your post and it absolutely hurt me to read what a bad experience you had in your first swap.  I've only done 1 swap so far but it was a great experience with a great partner...we both did great items and posted pics fast.

Anyway, the point to my reply here is to say that I wish I had been your swap partner cause that is an absolutely beautiful painting and if I had received it, it would now be hanging in my living room, holding a place of honor.  You did such a great piece of art...you just didn't get the luck of having a great swap partner.
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Shrink plastic fusion fish pendant on: June 04, 2008 04:10:57 AM
just glad you weren't hurt!  one question and not to sound insensitive but ummmmm  did your dinks survive this?    does make me not want to try the pyrex.

Yes, the dink that I was fusing survived but had a big bump on the back where the pyrex had broken and caused a knot in my piece.  I want to re-melt it to smooth it down but haven't had the nerve yet.  lol
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Shirts! They can also be too small, and made bigger! (A tute!) on: May 28, 2008 04:22:38 AM
What a great idea!  I seem to be having the opposite problem (for once in my life) and all my tshirts are now too big thanks to losing 41 lbs so far.  But now I know how I can make itty bitty ones big enough for me.  Thanks! Wink
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: 70s tablecloth to fab bag on: May 28, 2008 04:17:09 AM
I think it's absolutely fabulous!  I love brown and orange together (my latest fav color combo) and you did fantastic work in turning it into a very cool bag!  Love it!!

I hear ya...I'm listening to the pitter-patter of raindrops as I type this.  Ugh!

This is awesome!  Great choice of colors and it's simple but very feminine.  Cheesy
27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: RESIN on: May 26, 2008 04:05:34 AM
I bought them from amatestudios.com. They are the wholesaler, and have a list of retailers who carry their products.

Has anyone found them for sale online? None of those shops are close to me and most of the sites don't offer online shopping. Or what about something similar?

I'm running into the same thing...if I find them anywhere (and I'm looking all the time), I'll let you know.  Will you do the same?
28  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Flip flop ideas??(Images included) on: May 25, 2008 11:58:35 AM
I have a pair of plain flip flops that I dazzled up with some 6mm flat backed rhinestones and E6000 glue.  They've worn great for ever.  Both of these would look cute with some sparkle like that added to them.  Wink
29  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Lazy owl pendant on: May 25, 2008 07:12:47 AM
Let me know if you don't find anything, I'll be glad to send you a jump ring (and maybe something else *smile*) so you can proudly wear him.  Smiley

Absolutely.  I do some resin work, too, but it takes so long to see your finished piece.  Not so with the lovable shrinkys...wham, bam, thank ya maam, and you're done.  Gotta love some instant gratification.  Cheesy

Now, whatcha gonna do with Mr. Owl?
