1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: DIY KIT Round 9 on: July 10, 2007 06:22:40 PM
My camera's battery died and I didn't realize it, annoyingly, which is why these've taken so long to put up. But I have pictures of CraftADDChick's treasure chain kit! Cheesy

There's several pages of instructions, with pictures for each step -- which is perfect for me, because otherwise I'd be afraid of messing up and wasting the shiny supplies. Smiley But this way I can see what I'm supposed to do as well as read about it!

Only one picture of the kit proper, because the closeups I tried to take of the beads didn't come out well. (Stupid camera auto-flash.) You get a decent idea of how pretty the seed beads are here, though. The accent beads look like they'll go great with them, and I love the green-and-gold combination. I'm very grateful for having a case to keep all these in, too. Wink (If the instructions look wrinkled, it's because I'm actually squishing them into the case for now too. Yay for storage!)

Thank you so much, CraftADDChick!

I'm glad it arrived safely, and that you like it! Cheesy Definitely can't wait to see how it comes out.

And I just received from CraftADDChick today, so I'll post pictures later today or tomorrow. Smiley It's a great package; thank you so much, CraftADDChick!

I got glittergirl94's crochet kit the other day, so here's pictures! Cheesy

Four skeins of yarn; I love the multicolored one especially. Cheesy This is actually fairly accurate in terms of what shades the skeins are, despite the weird lighting in my room, so yay!

Crochet tools! Three hooks, a book of stitches, a set of stitch-markers that glittergirl94 said she got from the Sweat Shop Swap, a button, and glittergirl94's crafty business card. (There were also two pages of patterns and crochet links, but I didn't photograph that. Smiley )

And a close-up of the stitch markers, though the aforementioned weird lighting in my room didn't treat them too well, bah. They're very pretty, though. Smiley

Thank you, glittergirl94! Cheesy I suspect crochet is going to replace my Knifty Knitter as "random crafty thing I can carry everywhere", now. Wink

And my kits are done! Cheesy I think I can get to the post office to send them tomorrow; if not, I should be able to send them out Monday. (Yes, this is all three kits. Smiley ) Either way, I'll PM my recipients and LGD when they're in the mail.

I'm loving this swap. Smiley It's harder than I thought it'd be to put together good sewing kits (or maybe it's just because I've been busy lately), but really fun, and I can't wait to try out the new crafts I'm getting, or to see more posts in the gallery. Cheesy Thank you again for organizing this, little green dragonfly!

Woo, gallery! Cheesy I finally managed to get out shopping for some of the kit materials; now I just need to sit down and put it all together. Smiley

By the way, has anyone heard from danger0usangel03Huh I got one PM from her, but it didn't have her address, and she hasn't responded to my response. It's kind of hard to send a swap package without the recipient's address . . .  Embarrassed

Balletfreak might be first to send, but looks like I get to be first to inaugurate the gallery! Wink

I asked for a glass-etching kit; I've never done it before, but when my aunt and I were reading the Craftster book, she recommended that I try. So now I have an excuse to, as soon as I can find the time . . . Smiley All the red in the backgrounds of these pictures is my bedsheets, incidentally.

Gloves, stickers, etching cream, and -- of course -- a glass to etch. I love the glass; the shape is great, and it doesn't have any facets or anything that could be annoying for a first etching attempt. And it's definitely going to be what I first try etching. Smiley

Balletfreak included a card, which I'm pretty sure was handmade; definitely hand-painted, at least, from the texture. It's really pretty.

And finally, the instructions! If anyone wants, I can type up what the booklet says, but I think these are big enough to be readable -- though it might take a little fiddling with contrast. Smiley The booklet is handmade, and great; I'm definitely going to hang onto this. Cheesy

Thank you again, balletfreak! Cheesy

And balletfreak's package just arrived!  Cheesy I've got to figure out where I last packed my digital camera before I can provide pictures, so little green dragonfly, there's time before the gallery thread needs to be up. Wink But the package is great. Cheesy (And nothing's broken or damaged from transit, whew! Even the neat-looking glass she sent along -- for a glass-etching kit -- is fine. Smiley )

Thank you so much, balletfreak! And thank you for organizing this, little green dragonfly! Cheesy

(PS: To the people I'm making kits for: they're progressing fine! It's just been hectic around here with family things lately, so I haven't gotten a chance to go shopping for some stuff yet. Smiley But I'm hoping to do that this weekend, so I should be able to send out by next weekend, I think.)

Oh man, chainmaille! I totally forgot that I wanted that on my kit-wishlist! And wet-felting . . . Embarrassed Admittedly, I had a decent-sized wishlist already, and I know some of the things on it are already on offer, but. *hangs her head* Are we allowed to do last-minute revisions? *laughs*

Thanks, everyone who answered! I just sent in my questionnaire.  Cheesy I've been in the mood to craft lately, but not in the mood for any of my usual things, so this is great timing.
