2012  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Frosted glass -- How to make your own frosted glassware! on: August 06, 2004 10:13:09 PM
I loved this idea so much I had to make my own.  I bought two balloon wine glasses and etched "Rocket In My Pocket" with two rocket stickers the word bang.  I'll try and get a picture up.

Next, I make juice glasses............................

2014  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Charm Purse YArn Replacement on: July 22, 2004 07:33:36 AM
I found a yarn or rather two.  It is a Berrocco yarn that isn't variegated but has a second starnd one shade lighter twisted into it.  I bought a dark purple and a very dark fuschia.  We'll see how it turns out!
2015  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Charm Purse YArn Replacement on: July 10, 2004 07:31:58 PM
I want ot make the charm purse in the Stitch-n-Bitch book but Noro has discontinued the Gemstones yarn.  I do want a variegated (spelling?) yarn with the same type of luster that Gemstone's had.  Any suggestions?

Thanks! And I promise to post a pic when I am done!
2016  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: YARN DYEING 101 - KOOL AID on: July 10, 2004 07:18:19 PM
I have read about kool-aid dying and been too chicken to try.........but your tutorial made it seem a little less menacing.  It is on my to do list!   Does it matter what kindof yarn you dye?

2018  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Gidt ideas for X-Mas and Hannukah on: June 28, 2004 08:10:48 PM
I'm headed to the fabric store tomorrow for poncho appropriate fabric.  I need one for an upcoming trip to the coast......so I can experiment.  Plus pretty much everyone on my list will be there, so I can see who might want one!  Brilliant!
2019  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Husbands Birthday Help!!!!! on: June 27, 2004 07:19:41 PM
Hmmmm. You are in a tough bind.  My husband sounds like your guy but a many years older and sadly even with a more generous budget they tend to always be tough to buy or craft for.  My solution in the past has been to make an evening that revolves around his favorite thing or hobbies.  Does he like astronomy?  Maybe a midnight picnic with stargazing?  An added gift could be a nice knit, crocheted or sewn blanket that is his alone.  Years ago my mom made my husband his own lap quilt and it is the first thing he looks for when he is sick or just relaxing.
2020  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Gidt ideas for X-Mas and Hannukah on: June 27, 2004 09:19:19 AM
I have loads of gifts to get ready before December for my family and my husband's family which includes a mother-in-law, six nephews, two nieces and an as yet gendered baby due in November.  I sew, make beaded jewelry, embroider and have begun knitting.
