51 French Market Bag Debacle in Stitch And BOTCH by booglass on: November 13, 2005 09:00:47 AM
Why is it important to gauge and double check your sitch count after picking up stitches? B/c if you don't you wind up short on stitches with a tinier than expected bag and this...........

Boo hoo for me!

52 Wooly Knit Nipple in Stitch And BOTCH by booglass on: October 24, 2005 09:22:18 AM
I recently started the French Market Bag from Knitty and used the dpns cast on. But it resulted in a very pronounced nipple that I wasn't sure would disappear with felting.

I frogged and started the flat cast on version......nipple crisis averted!

53 Re: ice cream pint cozy *pictures* in Knitting: Completed Projects by booglass on: October 16, 2005 11:03:23 AM
Earlier in the year I whipped up an ice cream pint cozy using the pattern in Amy Singer's Knit Wits for my hubby's grandma. I used Cascade Fixation which a has elastic in it.

I bought a special spoon fo rher to use. I was hoping to find a plastic handled one that would match one of the yarn colors but I didn't get that lucky. Anywhoodle, she loved the gift.

56 Re: Umbilical Cord Hat and One Hour Booties in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by booglass on: September 21, 2005 10:01:55 AM
I recently made the same hat but did an ssk type decrease and shortened the length a smidge. don't you love the model?

I used an old yarn from Encore that I bought for a never made baby blanket.

So I am ready to go for the gusto and get cracking on "the clap." But I am reconsidering my orginal yarn choice, Berrocco Cotton Twist. It is evil and splitty. As it turns out I have 600 meters of GarnStudio Aurora Silke-Tweed. WILL IT BE ENOUGH?

I typically buy an extra skein for each project but since this was a close out yarn, I don't have that option.

I have the color on the far right of the top row. A grayish-black with small bright color flecks.

59 Re: Harry Potter Swap Part Duex Gallery in The Swap Gallery by booglass on: July 02, 2005 09:04:47 AM
I thought I'd post a pic of the shawl I sent djungelorms. It is her "uniform" for her new job as Hogwart's newest divination professor. It came with her welcome letter from Dumbledore, a teacup and loose tea for tea leaf reading.

If the pic isn't showing.......just click here http://booglass.typepad.com/photos/handmade_goodies_/picture_326.html

60 My weekend bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by booglass on: January 29, 2005 03:46:08 PM
I made this bag out of three material/tapestry sample pieces that I picked up for $1 each at the fabric store. I thought this would be great for weekend running around!
