21  Corn Fritters - Go Great w/Any Soup in Vegetarian / Vegan by booglass on: February 26, 2010 09:32:42 AM
I love soup but sometimes get tired of just having bread on the side.  So this week when I made Potage Crecy (just a fancy French way of saying carrot and leek cream soup) I made corn fritters!

You can read a bit about the recipe I used at http://www.bglassdesigns.com/b-glass-designs/2010/02/is-there-anything-better-than.html

22  Planetarium Ring - Images Added in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by booglass on: February 26, 2010 09:20:15 AM
This is one of my first rings, The Planetarium Ring.  Although, a friend suggested I call it the Lego ring.  I prefer not to get sued!  Besides, I put little teeny tiny dots that supposed to be like stars in the back ground.  And the tubes remind me of telescopes, hence the name.

I hope you enjoy!

23  Another Pretty Hammered Silvered Ring in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by booglass on: February 26, 2010 09:02:09 AM
I have designed another hammered ring.  This version is even chunkier than the original version and is really like a doughnut.  And seriously, who doesn't love a doughnut?

Must go I am suddenly craving a chocolate glazed.

A few more photos

I added a very simple chainmaile element to bulk up the sides.

I made this bracelet last year but haven't posted pics anywhere.  I've worn it a few times and gotten lots of compliments.

26  Women's Silver Hammered Ring in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by booglass on: January 21, 2010 08:53:10 AM

This ring is a fav of mine.  A simple design that I love and people seem to like.

I like the hammered texture.  Plus it is fun to make since you can hammer away any stress!

29  Ring a Ding Ding - Scroll Ring in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by booglass on: August 31, 2008 07:54:38 AM
This semester of jewelry school was a bit of a bust thanks to a busy travel schedule and vicious sinus infection.  But I managed to produce a few projects including this silver scroll ring.  The ring is 100% from scratch with no premade forms or elements.  What would be the fun in that?

The ring cut 2mm silver laminate and then using medium solder mad into a ring.  Next the scroll portion, which was made from 1.5mm I made myself from scratch, was shaped to fit snuggly around the ring.  That was tough!  It was then soldered under the scrolls and two places along the back using medium solder.

Enjoy!

30  Hammer Textured Ring W/Action Shots! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by booglass on: March 09, 2008 05:32:59 PM
This weekend I finished my second ring.

I convinced my hubby to pause Halo 3, a miracle as any of you XBox widows know, long enough to model the ring.  Which explains the action shot! Grin  Video games are serious business, almost as serious as the work it took make the ring.

I started out with raw silver which was melted into an amorphous bar shape.  FYI - I am not the lovely lady wielding the wicked awesome torch.

The bar was then passed through the rolling mill providing a phenomenal arm work out and creating bar which is cut to the proper ring size.  The bar pictured here is considerably smaller than the one used for his ring.  Shaped and then soldered.

Sorry the photos are so small but you can check out larger versions by clicking on them at my blog.  Hope you enjoy the photos and the ring.
