3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Opinions wanted on: December 18, 2006 05:15:51 PM
I was 'challenged' to make an ATC with nothing but wire.  I finished two before my fingers gave out.

The first is a spiral inside a frame.  Very colorful, heavy but sturdy.  It's springy and bounces when you move it.

The second one is a tree.  Mostly in gold and blue tones.

Both, of course, are pretty much 3-d.  And the white is only background for photos (wire only, no card background.)

I know the challenge was a little non-traditional, but would they qualify as ATC's normally?  They are the right size, but they really aren't cards in any way.  More like just miniature wire sculptures.

I am having too much fun.  I may be getting a wee bit addicted here Grin
These were also created for another themed swap, but I will get some up for trade soon (at least at the rate I'm going)
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Great Big flower hat on: December 10, 2006 02:20:49 PM
Just finished this hat.  It really turned cold here the last few days and I didn't have any warm hats of my own.  I always make them for everyone else first.  This started out just as a simple, almost pillbox shape that I just lengthened to fold up in a cuff.

But it was missing something....one great big giant flower!!!

My daughter hates it, but maybe that's part of the reson I love it so much.  And it's soooo warm.

Now my hubby wants one (minus flower and in different colors, of course).
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Three Sewing ATC's on: December 10, 2006 01:06:49 PM
I have been sucked into the ATC addiction!  I love the idea behind them.  Small, manageable projects, choice of medium, and swaps with themes really recharge the creative batteries.  Mostly, though, I love the idea of trading with others.  Most of the other work I do like crochet or freeform quilting is usually for some use or the give as a gift.  Trading means I get something in return that was also handmade.  Love it.

These are the first ATC's that I am actually sending off for trading.  I joined a swap on another group and this theme is vintage fashion.  Everything is made from vintage patterns, trims, and packaging from the 50's.
