OMG that is AMAZING! You totally ROCK!  Shocked
What a lucky little girl you have. Smiley

Hmmm, I wonder if we could do that...

Wow that's really cool!  Shocked

I've just discovered the fun of decoupage this Christmas and didn't know where to post about it either. Perhaps there should be a board for it.
33  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: best cheesy love songs EVER?! on: December 29, 2006 09:59:24 PM
Hmmm, my most loved items of cheese are:

Cherish - Madonna
Crazy 4 You - Madonna
I won't do that - Meatloaf
Damn it Janet - Rocky Horror Picture Show
I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues - Elton John
Unchained Melody - Everley Brothers (I think)

Not so loved:
Lady In Red - (sorry, I've forgotten the artist)
Islands in the Stream - Dolly Parton and some guy, maybe Kenny somebody?

Any of the Bee Gees' love songs

There were some pretty awe inspiring cheesy love songs during the 1980s.
34  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Coffee Tins, Glass Jars, Plastic Containers on: December 29, 2006 04:15:15 AM
I got into a decoupaging frenzy this past Christmas and decoupaged some of my old glass coffee jars with serviettes. The idea was that they will glow nicely as lanterns but I've run out of wire for wrapping around the top and turning into handles, and the candles I bought were too wide for the top of the small jars. Doh! So I can't report on how effective they are yet, but I do think they look damn pretty anyway. Serviettes are a tad difficult but I rather like the wrinkly and torn look because they suit the "shipwrecked on a south Pacific island" daydreams I've been indulging in lately.  Wink

35  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old CDs / AOL CDs / AOL CD Cases on: December 29, 2006 03:56:48 AM
This past Christmas I broke up old CDs and used them to decorate a picture frame form my MIL.

Broken pieces of CDs used to decorate a picture frame in a mozaic, just stuck on with superglue. The black and red portions were not painted. The back of the CDs were already that colour.

That's a great idea to make little garden scenes. It reminds me of the photos I've seen of fairy scenes made with furniture made out of twigs and things like that.
37  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: Odd Thrift Sew-along on: December 27, 2006 03:33:13 PM
Bloody hell! Well done!  Shocked
I wish I knew how to do something like that. I'm completely green with envy.

OMG I thought my MIL and I were the only ones to have failed Flylady!  Shocked
39  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Re: I found MODGE PODGE in Melbourne on: December 20, 2006 11:15:17 AM
I went to Northpoint in Preston looking for Mod Podge yesterday. There is no Spotlight there but there is a big craft stor there that does stock it but they were all out! Agh!  Shocked They said they were getting more in after Christmas. A fat lot of good that does me with all my gifts  due in the post today!

So I went to Lincraft. They didn't have any Mod Podge either. In fact, they'd never heard of it. So I got some spray on "sealant" that says it works for decoupage. I'll have to use that. It was about $10.

The coloured straw curtain would be great on my kid's room and I really like the shelf made out of CD cases too.
