1  Pink pleated purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by khraene on: February 20, 2008 05:17:42 PM
Yay, alliteration! Anyway, I made this for my chorus's silent auction. It was originally supposed to be the lovely leafy spring bag, but I made the handles majorly too small and I didn't have any more interfacing to make bigger ones...so I kinda gave up on that. I used that tutorial for the main part with modifications. And everything is hand sewn, given my lack of sewing machine :]

Front! (And yes, that is a zipper going around the top, haha. I needed a ribbon or something to hide my ugly "top stitching" and I didn't have anything else...I glued it shut so you can't open it up and look at the hideous stitching.)

Back! The closure is a white button from my stash and a bit of red ribbon.

Aaand, an action shot.

The lining is just the red polka dotted fabric you can see on the top. The flower is crocheted from this pattern.

These pictures are long overdue, haha. I should have gotten them up earlier, but I was being rather lazy Tongue

Here's what I sent to Kirashii:

A sewn scarf, Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar body cream, and a sparrow necklace.

The best shot I could get of the scarf by itself. Fabrics include corduroy, some sort of silkish fabric, cotton, fleece, flannel, and black fleece for the backing.

And a close up of the necklace.

I'll edit this post with the action shot of the scarf I received as soon as it finishes downloading XP

Here it is!

I'm so lucky to have received amazing packages from two people that I feel kinda guilty Tongue Well, here's the package I got from my original partner, CraftingPassion. Thanks so much!

A beautiful entrelac scarf, a pair of cabled armwarmers, three chocolate bars (I've already eaten two Tongue), and a necklace.

Another terrible action shot. Can you believe it's her first try at entrelac?

Her first try at cables too! Oh, and the color is actually dark purply blue, not completely blue!

I came home from school today to an amazing package from olliorange! An excellent way to start Thanksgiving break, I must say. I received a thick and comfy rib knit scarf, some knitting needles (much better than knitting with chopsticks XD), and a cute little cozy for my mp3 player. Thanks again for angeling, you're the best Cheesy

Group shot!

What a goofy picture.

The rest.

And just for fun, an artsy shot.

My partner CraftingPassion received a couple days ago, so I thought I'd post up some pictures. Alas, it's not nearly as good as everyone else's beautiful knit, sewn, and crocheted scarves...

Two fleece scarves and a Burt's Bees Hand Repair Kit

The contents of the kit, plus some Tazo tea bags and Blistex

Close up of the unicorn on the scarf

6  Turtles! [5 pics] in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by khraene on: September 07, 2007 04:26:17 PM
(This is my first project post!)

Okay, back story. (Feel free to skip XD) During the summer, I went to Hawaii with my chorus (Pacific Rim Children's Chorus Festival, if that rings a bell for anyone) and we split up into groups to learn about different eer, Polynesian? cultures, and two of the groups got those giant pieces of fabric that they tied around their waists like skirts (okay, I don't know what they're called, but essentially it's fabric!). Well, anyway, I wasn't in those groups, but I did manage to get one of each from people who didn't want theirs. My friend, whose birthday is coming up, wanted me to make something out of one of the fabrics. So of course...

The whole thing.

The lining, just a plain brown cotton.

Action shot, just to show how big it is. (It passes our school "dress code", the fingertips rule XD)

Oh, and that was all handsewn. And just because I don't want to create a new thread, here's the turtle necklace that's also part of her present.

Wire wrapped sea glass with a turtle charm.

And an action shot.

edit Oh, by the way, for the tote bag, I used this pleated tote tutorial combined with this tutorial for the zipper.

Alright, finally got those pictures up.

Here's everything! Hmm, let's see. A cute beach tote, lovely pink yarn, stationary and journals (I love that brown and blue one, that's going to come in handy), a t-shirt (love the colors!) a book for the looong plane ride to Hawaii, hair bands, mosquito repellant, and a huuge thing of delicious, delicious lip balm.

A close up of the beach tote

Adorable earrings! There was an anklet that went along with it, but it's currently undergoing recuperation, as Roberta said...

Hair things! Perfect for Hawaii, haha. I love the pineapple one!

Why yes, that is mosquito repellant and yummy lip balm. Haha, on the label it says, "Please do not eat cosmetics."

Thanks for everything, Roberta! And thanks to Dawn for organizing :]

I finished this the other day. My friend doesn't think it makes sense, but I like it anyway XD

By the way, the lady is wearing one of those huge, ridiculous feathered masks :]

My latest creation.

Currently my display picture on myspace. Cheesy
[imgcut.]http://what I did was a removed most of my blemishes, (haha. being a teenager sucks) added a layer of sunny yellow which I set to overlay, changed my eye color (originally dark brown), rounded the corners, and finally added SUMMER. lol

Hope y'all like it. Smiley
Oh my, I thought you were a doll.

Haha. Dunno how I just found this thread, but I did. So I'll proceed to share some of my stuff from this year and last. Let's see, my favorites are:

Which is my LJ banner.

Which is my website banner.

And my most recent.

10  McCall's M5382 (Skirt!) in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by khraene on: May 06, 2007 05:43:33 PM

I really like the skirt on this pattern (C), but as I am too cheap to buy it (and I probably couldn't follow it anyway, plus it wouldn't fit me), how would you achieve that effect? How do you make it poofy and do the gathers?

I feel so stupid asking this Tongue
