1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Legend of Zelda shoes on: November 11, 2014 12:06:27 PM
I finished making these a few weeks ago but forgot to post them! I had so much fun painting them, I'm a huge zelda fan. The shoes are canvas from wal-mart. I used gold paint for the triforce which i think ended up looking really good and i'm super happy with how they turned out. I think i need to work on the pixel style of art though, next time i'd like to draw out a proper grid before painting.

2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Minecraft and Angry Birds on: November 10, 2014 10:20:04 AM
I panted up these shoes for a friend of mine. Her son is big into minecraft and angry birds. I really hope he likes them! I'd love to know what you think of them, and what i could improve on my next pair.

3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Pet Portraits on: September 07, 2014 11:14:13 AM
These two painting are my first attempts at using gouache paints. I'm really happy with how they turned out, since i have never painted anything like this before. I was going for sort of a paint by numbers look.  The cat is my girl Peachie and the dog is my sister's dog Bo.

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Frida Kahlo Inspired hoop on: July 02, 2014 01:04:37 PM
So I made this hoop with a lot of different techniques so i wasn't sure where to post it. I used an awesome Alexander Henry fabric for the background and then beaded and emroidered all over it. I sewed/embroidered the Frida skull from wool felt, and stitched on vintage plastic flowers, with pearls in the centers. I made the little red flower and stuck a vintage button in the middle. I'd love to hear and comments/criticism on it!

Here I embroidered the strings on the puppet

Thanks for looking!
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Dr. Mario Painting on: July 02, 2014 12:48:04 PM
I'm a huge video game fan, and when i saw this long skinny canvas for sale i knew just what i wanted to do with it. The Dr. Mario Viruses were some of my favourite game characters growing up so I decided to paint them!
The canvas is 10 by 30 and i used acrylic paints.

And here is me holding it, so you can get an idea of how big it is.
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Hoot! Owl needlework on: May 01, 2014 02:16:40 PM
I stitched this owl up with wool felt and lots of embroidery. I used some metallic thread which i love the look of but hate working with! I stuck him in a sort of shadow box type frame and really like how it looks. Getting a picture of it was tough though!

7  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / TMNT Shoes on: May 01, 2014 02:04:33 PM
I handpainted these shoes for a co-worker of mine for her grandson. They were a bit tricky since they are a childs size 11 and i'm used to working with adult sized shoes. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out though!

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Felt, fabric, embriodery and skulls! on: April 18, 2014 02:20:53 PM
I love making these wall hangings. I use wool felt, fabric, beads, sequins, and lots of embroidery. Here are my most recent two that i've made. I'm planning on entering a local art show with these so i'd love to hear and comments/critique on them. Thanks!

9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Pokemon Ampharos Painting on: March 23, 2014 11:44:09 AM
I'm a big fan of pokemon, so when i found this big piece of wood i knew I had to paint my favourite pokemon Ampharos on it. I've never painted on wood this way before so it was a bit tricky for me, but i'm really pleased with how it turned out.

You can see I still have to trim the extra wood off the bottom!
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Dreamcatcher on: March 23, 2014 11:35:27 AM
So after seeing a few on pinterest i decided to try to make my own dreamcatcher. I wrapped a metal hoop with silk, then stitched the doily into the middle. I wire wrapped some cool beads, and hung them along with feather, coral, charms, and buttons. I love the way it came out, but it was pretty difficult to photograph.
