1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Duct Tape Swap? on: June 03, 2009 07:40:53 PM
I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in a duct tape swap?
You can make pretty much anything out of it, and I thought it would be a good medium for swapping  Grin

Oh, and I'd be willing to organize, if enough people are interested. Though a co-organizer would be helpful  Wink

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Anthropology and quilting?? :D on: October 02, 2007 08:05:07 AM
I'm currently in Intro to Anthropology and I don't have a very good grade (2.0  Undecided) and we are allowed to do projects to raise our grade...

I kind of want to make something that would both be functional for me after I hand in the project, and would get me a good grade, creativity wise...

I was thinking maybe a quilt (lap sized?) that has the revolutions of man on the squares (maybe drawn with fabric pen?). For instance, maybe for the first block have fire, the second, a tool made of stone, etc etc.

So any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Smiley I would appriciate them Smiley

I have this icky mobile-home-looking minifridge that I plan on taking to college with me this fall, and it's ugly Roll Eyes... Any thoughts on how I can make it prettier?  Smiley
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / mirror and shelf on: January 15, 2007 10:31:36 AM
my dad bought a plain wooden shelf a few weeks ago, and gave it to me. i needed something to hang my necklaces on, so i painted it up pretty like this:

its got flowers and hearts and kanji and vines and i adore it ^__^

but the shelf looked lonley, so i found a mirror my mom bought at a garage sale, and hung that above it

its a picture frame with little stick figures all around it, doing different things (jumping rope, stuff like that) and in the frame is a hunk of window screen. she uses it to put her earings in! i was totally amazed  Grin
