91  Re: The Super Sea Swap! Sign ups 5th April- 15th, send out by 15th May in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Pogo on: April 09, 2008 10:57:57 AM
Feelix your Taiwan pics reminded me of Thailand.

if i could live anywhere it would be a small cottage by the sea somewhere quiet
imagine waking up to the sound of the sea, & going to sleep to it...absolute heaven
Sulkycat I can imagine. I went to Thailand and to their string of Similan islands. My best gal pal and I stated in these cute huts (that had running water and electricity yeah, were roughing it) but it was soo wonderful to wake up to the sound of the waves. That was heaven. Heres a pic, sadly it doesnt do it justice but was one I had handy:

93  Re: Procrastination Station: Get Motivated! Never too late to join! in Craftalongs by Pogo on: February 27, 2008 12:05:57 PM
but first comes cleaning and organizing the basement so i can get at my crafting supplies. it looks like a bomb went off down there and i am NOT kidding!
this is about 1/4 of the space and yes, the rest is just this messy.
Your basement delights me to no end, it looks like our spare bedroom. Ahh, I am not alone...hooray!

As for me...
I need to make:
- album for Grandpa Bday - by 3/1 (ack) (I used all the photos I'd taken but cheated and went to CVS for a photo album. He loved it though!)
- necklace for sis bday - by 3/9 Done. Here's what I came up with:

- a thank you bracelet - soon!
- Items from my swap! [added 3/12] completed a day early! Tongue
- a thank you necklace for friend [added 4/17]

then wishlist -
decorate tack board
finish metallic sheet so as not to cause injury when used  Tongue
finish scarf (in FL not too much motivation for this one)
start t-shirt quilt (some day)

I'm sure there are more things that I am thoughtfully forgetting...I'll update as necessary.

94  Decoupaged wine bottles...for a good cause...at the cost of my carpet in Completed Projects by Pogo on: May 29, 2007 10:07:23 PM
Thank god for a miscellaneous category!
I would like to proudly show off the bottles created by me and my walking team (we are doing the 3-Day 60 mile Breast Cancer Walk). We are hoping to get donations for these bottles to reach our fundraising goals of $2200 each! (I'm still new so can't post pics yet though...so follow the link if you are so inclined.)

So, it started with red wine spilled all over the table, wall, chair, and carpet...these are my friends springing into action [image blurred to protect their identity Tongue Apparently this was an important part of our process.]:

Materials while in the process:

We ended up using Tacky Glue (because there was no Elmer's to be had in my town.) I did a mix of 50/50 water and glue. I believe a fellow crafster recommended submerging the entire image into the glue so I did that, coating the back and front with good success. From experience and probably a "duh", I definitely recommend some pre-planning for I kept having these tiny gaps occur and trying to find an image for *that* space with glue ALLLL over my fingers was a big challenging. Cheesy

Here's our finish project, my two are the yogi bottles in the front:

(sorry for the glare)

Love to hear what you all think and any other suggestions you'd recommend that would be easy for a group to make to get donations for...I have a ton of magazines, fabric and a whole room of art supplies. Probably only one of us would really claim true artistic ability though. Tongue Suggestions?
