11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Handmade Bird Swap, Sweat Shoppe Style! -- PICS BY 5/2, SEND 5/5 on: June 06, 2009 06:56:43 AM
I've only received four. The one from Catrinau is probably just taking its time in the mail, though. Tongue

I received! I absolutely love and adore everything. Cheesy I've taken pictures of everything except the medium. They didn't come out terribly well - the weather's horrible - so I'll try again tomorrow and post pictures then.

Now I just need to finish my items... Tongue
13  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Easy Peasy Swap 2 - Signups 4/17-5/8 - Sendouts 5/30 CLOSED !!!! on: June 02, 2009 12:32:14 AM
I shipped priority, and because my item weighs, like, nothing at all, even with a heavy-ish bag of sweets it was only a bit over 5 euros from Finland to the US. No DC or anything, though, because it counted as a large letter, not a package. I think it would have cost triple that if I'd sent it as a package, and I would have had to buy a stupidly large box. Tongue The post office lady put my postage in stamps, instead of the regular 'sticker'! I love packages with a bunch of stamps.

I haven't hear from my partner in a month, and apparently the organisers haven't either. I'm getting a bit worried. :/ I hope she's just busy or away from the internet.

Timezones are so confusing. It's half-past eight in the evening on the 30th here. Cheesy I sent around one in the afternoon, so my package shipped out today.

I've sent! I can't wait for my partner to get it. Cheesy

(Parenthetically, I got a prize from the US Embassy today, for doing so well on our standardised English test. Which is kind of funny, because I try to stick to British English as much as I can. Tongue My graduation ceremony is tomorrow - hopefully I won't fall over or something ridiculous like that.)

Mine's done! I need just need to buy a box, and some candy. I'll send later today. Cheesy

I've had a hugely busy few weeks. I'm really glad there's extra time, so I don't have to stress about finishing on time. My medium's largely done, and the smalls shouldn't take too long. (My partner's sent already. I feel like such a slacker. Tongue )

I'm mostly done with my item, I just need to block it and sew a seam. I'll leave it to dry overnight, and speed things along with a blow-drier if it isn't ready tomorrow. Should be able to send it off Friday morning. Cheesy

Hey everyone, don't forget your towels today.  R.I.P. Douglas Adams.

Thanks for the reminder - I nearly forgot. Smiley (Too bad the lilacs aren't in bloom yet.  /Pratchett reference)

Ah, the magic of WiFi. I'm sitting on our deck, knitting, enjoying the sunshine and watching the guinea-pigs go nuts over fresh grass - and watching physics lectures and old school Star Trek on my new laptop. Cheesy (Graduation present from my dad. He understands geekiness.)

I'm about 60% done, and chugging steadily along. (I have two torn ligaments in my right wrist, with a side of tendinitis, so I have to go much slower than I normally would, but oh well.)
Oh my goodness!  How did you tear the ligaments in your wrist?  Usually you hear of people tearing them in the knees (like I did) or sometimes possibly in the ankle.  It must be rough for you to do any crafting under the circumstances.  Please do take care of that wrist, and if the doctor told you to, then wear your hand brace/splint.

I fell while ice-skating. It went undiagnosed for two years - the first doctor said it was sprained, the second said it was muscle tension, and the third said 'holy crap, go get an MRI'. Tongue I wear a brace, which does help, and try to keep strain to a minimum.
