1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mermaid on: September 30, 2007 12:45:36 PM
Here's my take on the Mini Mermaid pattern [http://mermaid.nunodoll.com/mini/mascot.html].

I noticed someone else recently used the same pattern and that motivated me to finish the mermaid I'd started!

I enlarged the pattern so she's about 12" tall.

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Hide Plushie on: September 23, 2007 05:51:14 PM
I've discovered that I love making plushies ~ here's my latest!  It's hide, from the band X Japan.

I used this photo as the reference for his outfit, which I tried to make similar~ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v34/gypsysp/014.jpg
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / My Monster Book of Monsters on: July 07, 2007 09:56:07 AM
I had a hard time deciding what topic this would go into so I did a search and noticed others have posted their Harry Potter Monster Book of Monsters in here, so here we go!

I had to make this using only things I already had in the house, since I decided to do it at midnight...  If I were to make another one, a bit of shopping beforehand would make it much more interesting.  But, all I had on hand was felt, black fur, an old book and some googley eyes.  So this is what I came up with:

Grrr!

He ended up more cute than fierce-looking, but that's okay!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dobby the House Elf Plushie on: June 18, 2007 09:01:22 PM
I had to hand sew him as I didn't have access to my sewing machine... it took me about 8 hours to finish.  Boy was I glad when I got to his outfit and could sew it sloppy since it's supposed to look sloppy!

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Harry Potter dolls on: April 11, 2007 10:18:35 PM
This was my very first doll attempt about a year ago.  These are supposed to be Snape and Lupin.  The Lupin doll is the one I made, and my friend made Snape.  These were made with pre-sewen bodies as neither of us are great at sewing.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / felt mouse on: April 11, 2007 08:22:16 PM
I'm horrible at sewing [yes, sadly a felt mouse was a struggle!], but thankfully my cat doesn't care.  She needed a new toy and I didn't want to buy one so I just dug out some felt scrap pieces.   It's plain and boring-looking to me, but she carries it all over the house so I guess I did something right!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Film/Music clutch on: April 11, 2007 07:50:51 PM

Made of tissue paper with film/music print [covered w/packing tape], sheet music [also covered w/packing tape] lining the inside and the bow is made of white duct tape since I didn't have any white ribbon on hand.

It's more durable than I thought it would be, but I'm not sure how long it will last if I use it often.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Purple & Blue earrings and necklace on: December 23, 2006 07:56:37 PM
I got my boss for secret santa this year, and thankfully she likes homemade things so I made some jewelry for her:
