1  UNITED STATES / Louisiana / KNITTERS! on: August 09, 2005 06:35:58 PM
I am a fairly new knitter (about a year) and I live in Baton Rouge. I haven't been able to find any but are there any yarn shops in the area you like or are at least ok with? I am tired of Wal-mart and Hobby Lobby's acrylic section. I hate using acrylic really but I do use cotton. I recently went to the Quarter Stitch in New Orleans.

Are there any groups that meet in BR for knitting? I would really love to meet some other people who do.

Please help. Anything you know would be great.

Thanks.

Hillary
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Cloth, Paper, Scissors on: July 15, 2005 11:34:39 AM
Ok, scrapbooking and mixed media kind stuff doesn't usually do it for me all to much but the stuff in this mag is AMAZING. It is very new; only on it's 5th issue so it hasn't lost any steam at all. I have used a lot of what is in there and applied it to other projects that aren't about this stuff as well.

"Cloth Paper Scissors™ is an exciting, new quarterly publication covering all types of fiber arts and collage work, including mixed media, assemblage, altered books, art dolls, visual art journals, rubber stamping, creative embroidery, and book arts. Geared for the beginning artists/crafter as well as the advanced, Cloth Paper Scissors™ will have a playful, positive tone, encouraging both the beginning and seasoned artist to try new techniques and share their work and expertise with a greater audience."

Check it out. It is some amazing crap.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Am I right or wrong? on: March 26, 2005 12:12:04 PM
WHAT THE HECK IS THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE WRONG SIDE? It confuses me. Can someone just give me a straight forward answer?

To anybody who has knitted a swim suit:

Are they any good? Can you SWIM in them or are they more for lounging? Would I need to sew a liner into it or anything?

If you could suggest some patterns and a lot tips/ideas, that would really kick butt.

Love
Hillary
