1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Can anybody suggest a pattern using Patons "Fab!" self patterning yarn? on: May 13, 2012 10:15:38 AM
I just bought a ball of Patons Fab in a lovely bright colour mix, but now I have no idea what to actually knit with it.
Has anyone used this before?
I was thinking it might make a disgustingly bright baby cardigan or sweater, but I'm not sure what to expect from it.
Any tips or advice are welcomed!
2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Making a dog suit, need help! on: September 19, 2011 03:01:22 AM
I am planning to make my boyfriend a Wilfred costume (a hooded dog suit, basically) And I'm wondering if anyone could help me find a pattern for the main body part?
Any help appreciated!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Adult size onesie/kigurumi on: March 13, 2011 06:37:53 AM
Can anyone help me track down a pattern or detailed tutorial for an adult size onesie, or kigurumi?

I'm planning a Mudkip one, but need help with the basic shape, and I'm not having much luck.

Sad
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Donna Wilson's Knitted Odd-bod Bunch; maybe a stupid question. on: May 17, 2010 01:58:09 AM
I'm not an expert knitter, and some of the instructions in this book are a bit vague.
I'm a bit confused by the "sewing up" instructions.
Normally when sewing together a toy I sew it inside out, leave a gap and turn it right side out.
The toys in the book have very small parts, and the only sewing guidance it gives is to use mattress stitch.
The pictures given as a guide show two flat pieces of knitted fabric being sewn together side by side, which obviously isn't how the toys are made up.
Has anyone made anything from this book?
Or can anyone give me any advice on sewing together tiny knitted pieces neatly?
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Domo-Kun Messenger Bag on: February 14, 2010 12:11:03 PM
Inspired by girlwithapurl's fingerless gloves on the knitting forum, I made a bag to go with my new gloves.
It's fairly lightweight cord, lined with strawberry print cotton.

I'm pleased with how it turned out!

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Trying to find a pattern for an adult size romper/playsuit, can you help me? on: September 17, 2009 04:47:16 AM
I'm more of a crochet/sewing girl as a rule, but I'm dying to make my own version of this:

Can anyone point me towards a pattern for a romper or playsuit?
Pllleeeeeaaaasssse?

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / An Axolotl on: February 22, 2008 06:46:28 AM
I love axolotls, but couldn't find any craft projects relating to them.

So I made my own:

He's about 25 cm from head to tail.

Edit:
For those who don't know, an axolotl is a type of salamander, and is unusual in that it lives its whole life in its juvenile form.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My Little Pony shrink plastic extravaganza on: February 22, 2008 06:00:16 AM
Really pleased with how these turned out.
Drawn freehand on white shrink plastic and coloured with pencil crayons.

I LOVE shrink plastic.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / An Amy Winehouse brooch, in shrink plastic on: February 12, 2008 06:19:28 AM
I've been working on a lot of celebrity inspired projects lately, and decided to play with the shrink plastic I bought last Autumn.

Here is what I ended up with:

She is about 4 cm high, made of pink plastic and coloured with pencils.

What do you think?
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Can anyone help me with flower ideas? Please? on: October 15, 2007 08:12:11 AM
So, I'm getting married in 18 days, and there's still a lot to plan!

I have no idea what to do about a bouquet.
I'm not really into traditional flowers and stuff, and I like the idea of having something that wont just die and get thrown away.

I've been thinking about crocheted flowers, or fabric/felted....

Oh, I don't know!

My wedding is going to be a kitsch and fun affair, I'm wearing a short, white 1980s dress with a pink underskirt, white platform shoes decorated with coloured pearl beads, and a long white veil.

And I have bright pink hair....

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome, please help me out!
