1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / SOCKALICIOUSNESS! on: June 20, 2008 02:02:57 PM
Yeah, I made up a new word!!

This is my first ever knitted sock. I think I may be giving everyone socks for Christmas this year. If I start now I could finish them...maybe..if I don't get distracted by some other completely new and awesome project. I'm going to finish the matching sock tonight so I can wear them. I was so tempted to be evil and wear sandals with one sock today. LOL. I am normally completely opposed to wearing socks with sandals for any reason, but I think that actually making them could be the acception. maybe....here I go talking myself out of it Wink

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Wrap Pants on: June 05, 2008 01:56:31 PM
Ok, so I made some of those pants that wrap from the front and back. I've decided to wrap the front last when I wear the to work and do the opposite if I'm not working. Why?...not a clue but here they are and super comfy. I actually made them wider than they needed to be. I kinda liked the idea that from a distance they would look like a skirt. No side views though Wink

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit it Down Hoodie on: March 27, 2008 09:48:42 AM
I found a pattern for a top down raglan sweater in Creative Knitting, but I didn't like the collar. So I did a bit of editing and ended up with the "Knit it Sown Hoodie"

Added unforeseen bonus!!! The ribbing in the hood means that it will even fit when my hair is fro'd out!

I've got one sleeve rolled up here

4  UNITED STATES / Indiana / Fort Wayne Stitch Down on: March 18, 2008 10:52:48 AM
There's going to be an experiment to see how many area knitters and crocheters can be gathered at one time. All Ages are welcome to come. I thought I'd share the news. Here's all the info for it.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My "LIBRARY HOOKER" bag. on: March 14, 2008 08:54:59 AM
OK, I've been wanting to do this for a while. I bought the bag at WalMart on a whim and then broke out the acrylic paint and iron on letters (letters which will eventually be repainted I think). My blog is called "The Library Hooker" because I'm a librarian and I crochet. (you know..with a hook) It always suprises me how many times I have to explain the hook part. lol. Anyway, here's my bag, complete with my avatar painted on it. Cheesy

Here's a closer pic of the painted part.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / "Lush o' the Irish" on: March 14, 2008 08:27:29 AM
OK, so my friend bought a men's t-shirt that says "Lush o' the Irish" on it and said can you make it more girly looking. Well, needless to say, a pair of scissors, a little glittery paint and 15 minutes later this is what I came up with. Best I could do on short notice, since that was last night and she's going out of town tonight. What do you think?

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bernat's Deep V Sweater on: February 06, 2008 11:33:08 AM
I really liked this pattern when I saw it. So I made it. I feel like it's a bit big on me, so I'm not sure if I want to try some controlled shrinkage in the wash or not.

Here it is.

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Can't graph to save my life! on: December 20, 2007 08:20:42 AM
OK, I'm wanting to make my brother a scarf with a picture on the end of it. He's trying to start up a dog training business and he's based the logo on one of the dogs he used to have. I've been trying to get a graph right for this for 2 weeks now and I'm having no success. I think the curves are throwing me off. Can anybody help me? Are there any graphing gurus out there?... Here's the logo if that helps.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / I KNIT A FREAKIN' SWEATER!!!! on: December 09, 2007 12:20:42 PM
I almost can't believe it. I'm calling it the "Not Quite My Cherie Amour Sweater" cause I used the my cherie amout pattern from Knitty and I did this funky thing with my yo's that caused the holes to be smaller and the pattern to be tighter, but I love it!!! This is the first thing other than a scarf that I've ever knit. I usually just crochet. I'm so excited!!! can u tell? Wink

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Wrist Warmers on: December 06, 2007 09:11:37 AM
I hadn't posted anything in a while so I'm posting some stuff I've made in the past few weeks. These are the wristwarmers I made to go with my slouchy brimmed hat. All I need now is a scarf for the whole set!!!

They were easy to make too. I think I used a g hook. I chained the length I wanted from the wrist up my arm and then did rows alternating with 1 row front loop only and 1 row back loop only until it was wide enough to fit around my wrist.  (chaining 3 for the first stitch at the beginning of each row. Then I slip stitched the edge seam and turned it. I did a row of sc with 2 sc stitches around each dc stitch (cause they're sideways at this point) and then did one more row of sc around (and decreased some to fit) then I did 2 rows of dc. On the next row I dc'd around and stopped so that there would be a gap for my thumb I chained and turned for a couple of rows and then I joined the ends of the rows together and worked in a circle until it was long enough going up my hand to suit me.
