11  Re: Cherie Amour-along (knitty fall 07) in Knitalongs by Tenille on: December 09, 2007 12:16:21 PM
I finally finished mine. The holes are much tighter and smaller than they're supposed to be cause I didn't do it exactly like I was supposed too, and I think the next one will only have one strand instead of 2, but as is I really like how it turned out and it's super thick and warm!! Here's a pic of the whole sweater and a closeup b4 I added the sleeves cause the lighting wasn't great when I took the 1st pic.

12  Wrist Warmers in Crochet: Completed Projects by Tenille on: December 06, 2007 09:11:37 AM
I hadn't posted anything in a while so I'm posting some stuff I've made in the past few weeks. These are the wristwarmers I made to go with my slouchy brimmed hat. All I need now is a scarf for the whole set!!!

They were easy to make too. I think I used a g hook. I chained the length I wanted from the wrist up my arm and then did rows alternating with 1 row front loop only and 1 row back loop only until it was wide enough to fit around my wrist.  (chaining 3 for the first stitch at the beginning of each row. Then I slip stitched the edge seam and turned it. I did a row of sc with 2 sc stitches around each dc stitch (cause they're sideways at this point) and then did one more row of sc around (and decreased some to fit) then I did 2 rows of dc. On the next row I dc'd around and stopped so that there would be a gap for my thumb I chained and turned for a couple of rows and then I joined the ends of the rows together and worked in a circle until it was long enough going up my hand to suit me.

Yet another one...
Sized different though. I used my N and I hooks. N for most, I for the edge

OK, so I double stranded mine which makes it extra thick, but I like it that way, then about 1/3 of the way up the bottom part I realized I was doing this funky thing where my yo's were twisted instead of regular, so my holes in the lace pattern weren't as big, but I decided that I liked the way it looked so I kept doing it. I'm 2/3 of the way done with a sleeve right now and my goal is to finish this b4 Thursday so I can wear it. (we'll see how that works out) I also made the top measure about 12in instead of the nine the pattern says. (I'll probably have to add an extra increase into the sleeves to make them fit right huh?) anyway, here's  a pic without the sleeves.

I so won't be wearing it with those jeans though. They fit wierd and leave this funky bulge. It looks great with my other ones though!!! Wink

I'm gonna go buy some nicer yarn and make it like it's supposed to be with the proper yo's though, cause I like the pattern.

16  Re: You know you're a craftster when... (part THREE!) in Discussion and Questions by Tenille on: November 16, 2007 11:07:07 AM
YKYACW your husband stumbles upon a folder in your bookmarks labeled "Eye Candy", and instead of photos of Jude Law and Chris Martin finds pictures of handspun and handpainted yarns.

Who needs men when you can have yarn?

HAHAHA!!! That's sooo great. Although you know what'd be even hotter? Pictures of hot men knitting or crocheting. now that's what i call eye candy. You get everything at once hehe.

YKYACW you read these and remember this pic and immediately go find it on the internet, just so you can post it in the ykyacw thread! I found it at http://menknit.net

17  Re: Show Off Your Hair! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Tenille on: November 07, 2007 01:36:41 PM
SpunK, I like your hair! It looks great on you.

And on another note, I finally dyed my hair a bright color not seen in nature. it was very gold-blond like here

And now it looks like this! I dyed it Passion Purple!!! Of course it's starting to fade into burgundy, and blue with patches of purple still. lol.

20  Re: Fat Bottom Bag CAL... anyone? in Crochetalongs by Tenille on: October 08, 2007 10:38:18 AM
I made one, and I'm not lining it. It's so small that I'd only ever use it if I was going out anyway, so the only things that would be in it would maybe be the wallet and some makeup. the keys would probably stay in my pockets anyway, so no biggie if it's not lined.  I still say it's too small fro anything but clubbing. Here's mine.

I'm tempted to try to make a giant tote with this pattern, but I'm not sure yet.
