11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Newbies Only Swap Round 9 Gallery on: June 09, 2008 06:50:47 PM
Yay! My package arrived today!

Here is everything:

I got two necklaces a cool Steampunk-y one:

And another that somehow only ended up in this one, clutched in my hand:

It is plaid with a gold coin and skull bead center.

I also got this rocking headband:

And my favorite piece, an amazing tote bag with skull and crossbones detailing!

I also got a cool Canadian key chain:

Which was kinda cool because I'm pretty sure I didn't tell her about my love of foreign currency.

I also got a pin that refused to be photographed that reads "Corporation of The City of Guelph"
It seems as mysterious as the button that made its way into my package to PixlePup.

Anyway, This was really great!  Thanks so much PixlePup!

pixlepup: I'm so glad you like your stuff!  My family can tell you that I kept going around my house this past week or so going "It was terrible.  She's gonna hate it."  Also I got you some patterns from your wist, and they should come in the mail.  I hope you like them.  As for the button, that is a mystery.

W00t for all the old school Nintendo loot!

I love that doll. I don't know what it is from, but it looks great!

I apologize for not being more talkative on the forums and for causing worry.  I did not flake, I sent my package on the 23, I just went out of town.  I now know that I should be more talkative in swap forums. Again, sorry.

Thanks Kish for not giving up on me, and Pixlepup, I hope you like your package.

High five Pixel Pup!

I am super excited to get going.

So my bio:
My name is Ruth, I am 21 years old (I'll be 22 at the end of the month).  I live in Raleigh, NC and work here(http://camelot-treasures.com/) if that gives you any idea of the kind of person I am.  I've been crafting my whole life, from those plastic needlepoint sets with terrible yarn.  I'm one of those crafters, who tries everything, so I've dabbled in most crafts, and I can do all kinds of stuff!  I'm into pirates, the English renaissance,  the English anything, steampunk, Firefly, Stardust, books, movies, good tv, board games, the list goes on.

I'm sure I'll think of five more things I want to add the second I hit post.

After checking out a lot of wists myself, a lot of you guys have fantastic taste!  This is going to be fun no matter WHO I get paired up with.  I hope I'm able to bulk up my wist enough, though I'm pretty easy to stalk online.  =0)

I was worried people would look at my wist and think, I can't make anything for her!  What a weirdo.
SO, yeah

Also, in the area of trying new things, I saw someone had some batiked fabric on their wist, and it made me want to try batiking.  I did some in 6th grade with my class, but I think it would be fun.  I'm also currently working on my first poppet, and am surprised at how good I'm getting with the sewing machine.  Exciting!

Only one more day of school and until we get partners!

I have one exam tomorrow, and two on Thursday, but then I will be out of school for summer, so I am psyched to get going.  I got nothing but time!

Gosh! You go away for a day an there are three pages of new posts!

Kish:  I meant that ambiguous would swap a legally bought CD with me.  I have friends with the CD, but I refuse to burn them.

ambiguous: thats sounds great!

SewFixated:  A junk food swap sounds awesome!  You'd really have to make it partially creative, or it is no fun.  maybe after this one is done one should get started.

Arg! the wait is killing me!  I'm so excited!

A: I am uber jealous that you are going to ComicCon  Angry
B: As much as I adore Summer Glau, your hips make that dress look even better.  Bravo!  Cheesy

A friend of mine brought me Kinder eggs when she went to Germany, and I had to ration them out, cause they were so much fun!

One of my favorite bands is from Australia, Tripod, and it is nigh impossible to get their CD's here in North Carolina.
So, ambiguous, I would be willing to send you a huge box of whatever American chocolate/whatever you want if you will send me a Tripod CD! (Totally aside from the regular swap and all, so I'm not sure how that would work, or if I'm even allowed to do this. Wink. I guess PM me!)

So, more on topic, I am so psyched to get this going.  I went to the craft store yesterday for another project and was getting all these ideas, but I want to wait to find out who my partner is first, so I had to restrain myself!  I am obsessively checking back to this forum in anticipation.
