They're very cool.  You could make super kitsch ones with souvenir spoons!

Apple picking is a beaut! Interesting technique too.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dear Serious Crafty Knitters: on: August 26, 2008 09:36:40 AM
Hello,
I have a tool box to hold all my crafty bits, the compartments are handy, and since stuff is stored in layers that can be lifted out, it's easy to find things and they don't get as tanged.
I have been meaning to make it look, well, less like a plain old toolbox...but too busy crafting I guess...
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Barbara Walker pattern treasuries - advice please! on: August 04, 2008 02:04:58 PM
Hello,
I'm looking at these lovely books online, as no shop here seems to carry them  Sad , and I think I can only really afford one.

So if you own one or more of the treasuries, which would you recommend?
I'm more interested in lace than cables, but they all seem to be mixed, is that right?

Thanks,
Martha xx
5  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Black food dye? on: July 28, 2008 03:46:12 AM
It's Supercook, bought in the UK.  I have unfortunately run out of plain wooly yarn to experiment with, so might have to wait a while before I can mess about further  Sad But if I crack it, I'll let you know!
6  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Black food dye? on: July 23, 2008 10:50:50 AM
Hello!
I've been playing about, dying white wool yarn with black food dye with vinegar, but it keeps just taking a dark red from the bath and leaving the water a lovely blue/violet shade, that won't take at all since the yarn saturates itself with red! I'd like the colours to split but can't work it out!
Any tips? Is it when I'm using the vinegar - soaking the yarn in vinegary water, then adding it to a heated dye bath with more vinegar? Is this too much?
Help! Huh
