Ok so my husband and I have planned to have our Daughter's Birthday party in the backyard of his Mother's house. Which is great because we can put a slip 'n' slide for the older kids and Bar-B-Q for the grown-ups.  I need more advice.

44  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Free babyshower invites! on: February 12, 2007 04:00:39 PM
Now if you are looking for cheap baby invites for your shower or helping someone with theirs.
Babies'R'Us gives you free invites(plus envelopes)when you register at the store.

Wal-mart has some good ones but you would have to look around different stores because some might not have a certain kind in stock.

Or you can buy from the craft store:
a package of blank cards w/envelopes.
a RSVP/Invite stamp.(They are only between $4-$9 in stores, plus since you are having a kid that stamp will be very useful for future B-day parties down the road).
Scarpbooking paper(In any color you want).

Design whatever you want some people buy more stamps that they can use or get rid of.
45  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Shower games on: February 12, 2007 03:58:50 PM
Guess the waist-The object of this popular game is for shower guests to estimate how large the mom-to-be's waist has become. You'll want to be sensitive to the pregnant mom and how she may be a little touchy on this subject. Therefore, no one should mention anything about inches when this is played! The kindest way to play this game is to pass around a ball of yarn and a pair of scissors. Each guest cuts off a length of yarn that she estimates will fit around the mom-to-be. Finally, the mom-to-be measures her waist with the yarn and cuts off the correct length. Each guest compares her yarn to the mom's and the closest length wins. You'll be surprised at the variation in guesstimates.

Dirty Diaper-This is more of a door prize than an actual game.
Fold small white napkins or squares of fabric into little diapers and fasten with a diaper pin. Place an opened candy kiss in one of them. Give them to guests as they arrive at the party. Warn them that one may be a dirty diaper and they'll get to change it when everybody has arrived. Have everyone open their diapers together at some point during the party and the one with the kiss wins a door prize

Baby Shower Bingo-Give all of your guess blank bingo cards when they arrive. Ask them to fill in each box with items they think the mother will be receiving as presents. As gifts are opened, they can mark them off on their cards. The first person to fill her card calls out "Bingo" and wins the game.
46  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / spuirt guns on: December 29, 2006 09:19:22 AM
My Husband bought alot of stuff for a luau.
We ended up with a boatload of squirt guns.
I saw how they made a bowl out of old plastic soliders.
I am wondering if that can be done with the squirt guns. Huh
47  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / a gift for a sportfan Dad on: December 20, 2006 07:28:40 AM
So my father is the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan alive.
Awhile back I bought four yards of The Dallas Cowboy fabric they sell at Wal-mart. Made these really cool pillows then his stupid cat pees on them. I was so mad but he really did like them.
So now I have some left over fabric and I making a scarf.
I hope the dog doesn't rip this up.
48  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / I have some ideas for you guys on gifts on: December 16, 2006 11:21:06 PM
Since late November I have been making jewelry for the women in my family and in my husband's family.
Earrings,bracelets,broches,etc,etc.

For my Dad since he is a big Dallas Cowboys fan I have left over fabric from making him Dallas Cowboy pillows which his cat pist on and they had to throw out. So now I am making a scarf for when he goes up to Dallas on x-mas day.

The men and kids on both sides of the family are going to be the hardest.
I might make sunglass holders for some of the men or something that can cover and hold an ipod,cd player, etc, etc.

My Aunt has suggested that I buy tin cans and make abunch of different cookies and put them in the tins for everyone.

oh yeah this just popped into my head....beer mugs?!
