11  Re: Fill-a-Matchbox SUPPLY Swap R1 (Send Feb 28) in The Swap Gallery by Queen of the Savages on: March 14, 2007 04:20:31 PM
I RECEIVED MY MATCHBOX! I couldn't open it for ages, it was crammed so full!
Thank you Psyche!!

It's gorgeous.
And once more, my favourites:

I was opening it and squealing while my mum looked at me strangely saying "huh" and then "heh", repeatedly. She just doesn't understand, I suppose.
I love it, thank you so much!!

12  dinosaur birthday papercard! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Queen of the Savages on: January 19, 2007 04:29:05 PM
I hope this belongs here...

I made this one night- it was super fun and easy. It looks terrible, I know, but it was fun! He got a doughnut to make up for what the card lacked.

It was my friends birthday. His initals are HB, just like HB for Happy Birthday so I combined it as I thought it funny.
There are a load of Bockings in the world, so I don't think it matters much that I put this here.

More of the dinosaur!

And the pretty letters...

All I did was print a dinosaur picture, trace using a lampshade instead of lightbox onto a piece of pretty paper, cut it out, glue onto black paper.
Cover with everything and a billion tonnes of glue. Yarn, sequins, crepe paper streamers...

13  Re: Long wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Queen of the Savages on: January 04, 2007 02:28:53 PM
I made a wallet like this.  Grin
I love the design! It's so elegant.

BUT: I found it really difficult following instructions. If I hadn't made I different style wallet, I would have given up. I cut the shapes, then did it my own way.
Also, the measurements didn't work for me. I had to make it a tad wider for cards to fit in.

The wallets are gorgeous though, I am really happy with mine and my sister has requested one too!

EDIT: the lining has tiny keys, and the outside is corduroy.

14  Help with freehand machine embroidery mess! in Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions by Queen of the Savages on: January 03, 2007 06:45:11 PM
Sorry about the awful picture quality- I scanned it. I was attempting to do some freehand machine embroidery. And got this:

However, the back:

YIKES!
It's terrifying.
And the stitches are skipped. It's messy and bad.
Could anyone help me with this.
I have a Kenmore machine, about 20 years old...

EDIT: I was inspired by this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=141127.0

And I forgot to mention: the second picture is inverted strange. I meant to flip it from upside down in photo editor, but instead did a horizontal mirror image thing.  Roll Eyes

15  Bags, wallets, zippery pouches. IMG HEAVY in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Queen of the Savages on: December 27, 2006 06:41:35 PM
Please tell me what you think- this is my first making a new thread, so I hope I did everything right!!

As soon as I discovered craftster, I started sewing Christmas presents for my friends from all the amazing tutorials here.

Sorry about the horrible quality photos. Does anyone know how to take good close ups? My camera over exposes with flash on, without is too dark!

This is not from any tutorial. It is TERRIFYING. But the fabric is so amazing.

Next, and much better- we visit my wallet, made with hdoglovesyou's tutorial

And a chicken one!

thejordy's Jordy Bag tutorial helped me with this:

tinafish's Slouchy Hobo Bag ish:

(Look- it's reversable! I bought the parrot for .50 at a thrift shop!)

e.r.i.k.a's tutorial for zippered pouches made this:

and the back:

It's from adorable ballerina fabric scraps which I then appliqued? on.

I made so many of those bags, but didn't take pictures.
One I made at an angle as I made an oopsie cutting the fabric. It doesn't have a lining though.

WHEW.
