1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cinderella on: November 08, 2011 08:10:02 PM
This is the first year my kids have been old enough to do the ToT thing, and DD adores Cinderella, so easy easy decision Smiley  The blue fabric is a sheet from Salvation Army, and I free-handed it using a current dress as a guide.  I don't at all expect to win, but would love some crafty encouragement Smiley

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Restoring an old quilt? on: May 13, 2011 11:13:41 AM
I have a quilt my great-grandmother made.  It's very "depression era" like.  Made totally with scraps of old clothing (lots of red corduroy!) and the "batting" is actually what appears to be old flannel shirts.  I know this because it's falling apart Sad  Is there anyway I can restore this to usable condition?  I can take pictures if it will help Smiley

Thank you all so much for your help!!!!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / *action shot added* a new dress for DD2 :) on: April 22, 2008 08:07:36 PM

I will try and get some action shots tomorrow  Grin
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Looking for a free dress pattern for a toddler on: April 13, 2008 01:51:55 PM
Looking for size 3T. I have SO much cute fabric I need to get sewing, now that my diaper sewing days are over. I don't want a pillowcase dress, more of something like this:

Any ideas? Links?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / what has been distracting me from my quilt... on: March 04, 2008 10:13:27 PM
another mama-made fitted

And my first attempt at a wool wrap.  I am going to put snaps on it (I think) but DH has to set it snap thing up for me, first Smiley

It's a fitted using the fattycakes pattern.  A snap press is on the way to me, so no fasteners, yet!  JA flannel inner and outer with an internal microfiber soaker and a lay-in soaker of microfiber topped with flannel.

Forgive the mess, I was just gifted a bunch of clothes and am sorting them!   Wink  This pic shows how well it fits her chunky thighs!

TFL!
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / quick, easy, stunning pattern? on: February 13, 2008 07:17:45 PM
I want to bless a friend of mine with some quilts for her kiddos.  I'm thinking baby/crib size.  my only thing is, she is SUPER SUPER creative and I can't give her just a bunch of fabric sewn together.  Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Fleece diaper covers? on: January 13, 2008 09:24:00 PM
Ok, I REALLY want to try making my own pockets/covers from fleece...but do they really work? My only source for fabric is Joanns as of now, and I'd like to go get some before it is all gone for the summer.

DD2 is a SUPER SOAKER if there ever was one, and I just can't see FLEECE keeping dry...

Help!
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / My new Christmas tree skirt on: January 12, 2008 07:42:04 PM
Inspired by (ok, totally copied from) this post:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=208019.0

I have 1 child visiting her dad and 1 bun in the oven.  The puff paint is still drying, and I will add some sort of trim along the edge of the skirt, I just haven't found something i LOVE yet, and since this will be around a long time...

I plan to do the kids hands each year, but mine and DH's just this once.

Comments/suggestions welcome!
