I'm going to Uganda this summer for a month to work in orphanages and we are now in the fundraising state of things.
We are hoping to be able to get some neat photographs taken as well as nice frames to auction off.
So. I was wondering if any of you talented people would be willing to donate some of your art to the cause. If you would simply allow us to print copies of your photos we would give you full credit and add any information that you'd like to the back of the frame.
It's an extremely good cause and also a good way to get your name out there. (We'll be selling them in the Denver area.)
Thanks for the consideration and just respond to this if you or anyone you know might be interested.
I have a friend who just spent 6 months living in California. He was constantly at the beach and loved how his hair felt after he got out of the ocean. Unfortunately, the only bodies of water here in the glorious Colorado are the nasty reservoirs.
I'm a hairstylist, so he asked me if I know of any shampoos that were made for such a purpose, apparently he's heard of them but doesn't know the name.
I've never heard of any, but I was wondering if you guys had ideas for something I could mix into shampoo, or even start from scratch to get that same effect.
He's not big on having to actually us product, so it would have to be in a shampoo or something. Ideas?
I'm helping my friend's mom plan a babyshower for my pregnant friend....here's where you guys come in.
She's having a boy, so the theme colors are baby blue, yellow, and green. I guess she found some really cute zoo stuffed animals. I think she found a giraffe and a hippo and something else..I forget. The point is that the shower is kind of based off of these cute little stuffed animals. Mainly the blue hippo.
I need your help with ideas for decorations, food, games, and other baby shower type things.
I haven't really discussed with her the types of things that she wants going on, we'll be meeting in the next week or so. I'd just like some good foundational ideas that I can put to good use. Thanks everyone, you are amazing!
Alright, I've made a few things for this teacher of mine, and the other day she stops me and says "can you look at a picture and make something from it?" So, thinking she's talking about a scarf or something, I say "normally, sure." So she shows me this picture...of this cardigan. From a magazine. It's an Oscar de la Renta...what she really likes about it is the sleeves and the belt and the "little holes in it"....the lace pattern.
Unfortunately, I can't get my scanner to work so that I can upload this picture..and I can't copy the picture from the website. But if you go here http://oscardelarenta.com/main.html and click on "runway" and then click on "spring 2006", it is the 13th picture in the sequence.
If anyone knows of any patterns even REMOTELY close to this, I would love love love to see them. If you know how I might be able to draft a pattern for this, I would love love love for you to share that information with me. I've never really taken on this big of a project, but I am really up for the challenge...Plus, she'd pay me...hello!
I attend a beauty school and we are having a fantasy competition. Basically what it consists of is a group of four people, one hairstylist, one esthetician (for makeup), one nail tech, and a model. We have to come up with a theme and design a costume/hair/nails/makeup/backdrop to go along with it.
If you've seen the movie Blowdry, it's like the competitions they do there, except we have to decorate our area with a backdrop and props.
The theme that my group is going for is kind of an underwater thing. We are going to make her hair look like coral, and she will be in a bikini that we are going to have custom made. There will more than likely be body paint involved. The backdrop will probably be an ocean scene.
This is where YOU come in. We need more ideas!!! What other kind of props could we use in our "booth"? What creative ideas could we use for the makeup, nails and hair?
Thanks everyone!!! Hopefully I'll have pictures to share afterward.
