1  Re: Children's Scavenger Hunt GALLERY OF GOODNESS in The Swap Gallery by jesa on: October 31, 2010 08:11:50 PM
my package was received last Monday but I haven't heard from my partner so I'm assuming everything is ok but I will post pics anyways since I took them before I sent. here is my list:

1. something food related: organic honey sticks from my local farmer's market
2. something green: a green boat for #3 to sail around in
3. something to hug or snuggle: a sock-ta-pus
4. something warm: a love collage
5. something "G": goldfish for the sock-ta-pus to eat
6. something to read: a Dr. Suess book about summer/the beach
7. something long: a ribbon "wand" I found on her wist list (didn't get a great pic of this)
8. something by child: Indie painted him a beautiful ocean scene (I didn't get a pic of this Sad  )

here are the photos:

most of the stuff together, the ribbon wand is at the bottom and the fishing pole the goldfish is hanging off of:

love/heart pic made from recycled medicine tops I get from my job as an ER nurse:

close up of the fish, I made a fishing pole with a snap on the end and put snaps on the mouths of the three fish I made so they can be swapped out, attached, and detached as desired:

I apologize for the MASS quantities of photos but I can't help it! I am so excited for our package, it was completely amazing!

1. something food related: this is my favorite so I'm holding off on the photo...hahahaha!

2. something green: "eco" theme with reusable snack bags - perfect since I have to pack a snack for her every day!!!:

3. something to hug or snuggle: a playsilk that was hand dyed for Indigo! it is BEAUTIFUL!

4. something warm: SOCK SLIPPERS! for some reason Indie said her favorite game is "elf shooting" I have no idea what the heck this is, but Leigh-Ann made elf slippers - NO SHOOTING POOR INNOCENT ELFS!

5. something G: a green matching game!

6. something to read: a book tote bag! Indigo's favorite book is "Inky the Indigo Fairy" and she put INKY THE INDIGO FAIRY on the BAG! Indie is totally in love. LOVE.

7. something long: a giant crayon roll. Indie thinks it is meant to be WORN. um...maybe a little too long?~

8. and something made by Levi - two beautiful creatures, a fish ("a HEART fish" exclaims Indigo!), and a beautiful turtle:

OK FINE finally the "something food related"! I spied a set on Leigh-Ann's site and was dying to have one for Indie since we cook and bake together all the time. she will not take it off. and keeps asking me "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO COOK?!" to which I answer "AS SOON AS I'M DONE POSTING THIS COOL STUFF!"

and some more photos of the stuff. I told you, I can't stop! Indie can't stop tapping her toes - the sock slippers jingle! Smiley thank you Levi and Leigh-Ann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ready for some awesome pictures? Indie was SPOILED! more rotten than she already is...the only picture I didn't get was one of a beautiful star necklace, it's already in Indie's jewelry box upstairs and I couldn't find it. probably stuck under her pillow to help her dream at night!

awesome home-made crayons

MEOW! Indie loves cats. she's super allergic so she can't have a real one Sad

see this awesome necklace goodness? it has rarely been taken off. I demand it off at night so she doesn't strangle herself.

this is a BACKPACK made out of the most beautiful pink fabric, and a VERY cute picture colored by Faith

better picture of the backpack and a sketchbook that Indie has already started sketching in...what would she sketch? CATS! OF COURSE!

CUTE painted kitty

one unbelievably happy kid!!!

THANK YOU!!!

4  medicine pop tops to jewelry & hair clips in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jesa on: August 09, 2010 09:58:42 PM
I work in a busy trauma center in the ER and collect these pop tops and have decided to start making jewelry with it. the only problem I am having is trying to get a hole in barrettes (metal plain barrettes) so that I can connect them more securely, I don't want them to fall off. let me know what you think

6  medicine pop tops in What the heck can I do with THIS? by jesa on: July 24, 2010 12:09:29 PM
what would you do with these? they are small plastic tops from the medications we use. I LOVE them, I collect them at work (I'm a nurse in the ER) and here are my ideas:

barrettes
jewelry (earrings, bracelets)
magnets
pony tail binders
cards (glued on to drawings)
t-shirts (sewn on to drawings)

YAY! my package has made it through the CLOSED AIRWAYS of Europe and across the little pond! thank you thunderchild!!! I LOVE my package...and my daughter loves it too!!!

all my goodies together - some magazines, candy, and special treat for my daughter of ruler, colored pencils, regular pencil, and pad of paper (which is almost completely full, she has not put it down since I got it out of the mail):

(she wanted one with her foot in it):

close up of my daughter's stuff with her already writing in it:

and the best: a REVERSE-able HUGE tote, this is going to be full of library books come out next trip...or maybe our trip to the farmers market...or grocery store...or...who knows! I think I'll keep it with the British flag but if I so choose I can reverse it and it will become the American flag. come on...we all know the British flag is way cooler!

thank you thunderchild!!

hair clip:

magnets (there were THREE but two are missing...CHILD!):

and best of all an AWESOME REVERSE-able apron!!! WOO HOO!:

I received an AWESOME package today from Zombie - I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! she followed my "gory" theme perfectly! here are the awesome photos (although they are great, the little guy is actually even cuter in real life, if that's possible):

first she made some awesome sock monkey cards:

then she made me an adorable pin cushion and a pillow (my daughter was SO excited that my sock critter had a pillow of his own. I have a feeling I know who will be sleeping with her tonight):

and FINALLY! my SOCK DONKEY! how cool is that!:

notice his little saddle (which Zombie said she didn't really love, but it is one of my favorite parts):

and the gore, you say? the GORE?! his guts fall out, of course!

thank you SO MUCH Zombie! sorry I had to share so many pics, but I am SO EXCITED!!
